How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

do you always take electric security tags when supermarket shopping for reasons of satire?
I don't work in a supermarket, plenty of people do when they are closed. Tagged two and moved them to the front of the stillage with untagged ones in sight for a photo op. A very poor attempt.

It was in the news 2 weeks ago.

The government is set to miss its target for securing post-Brexit trade agreements, as figures show a 15% fall in the number of UK exporters.
At the 2019 election the Conservatives promised to get agreements covering 80% of UK trade by the end of this year.
The most recent figures suggest it will be just 63%.
A government source said a trade deal with the US had been crucial to meeting the target, but the Biden administration was not prioritising it.
The government also set a target this year to agree a free trade deal with India by Diwali, on 12 November, which was missed.

Is there a sleight of hand there? The 80% aim was for "free trade agreements" but Mordaunt answered about just "trade agreements". That's a disgrace!

Not sure where to place this.
It’s either here or the Irish politics thread.
I’ll put it here because it is about the benefits to come from EU membership.

Brexit exposed to reality = hilarity - an act of stupidity the size of which we have never seen before

It seems the 'take back control' narrative beloved by so many brexit lovers, doesn't have the desired positive effect when the world is watching us trying to welch on binding treaties we have signed.

It's a remarkable achievement when thought is given that our government ministers care more about headlines in the Daily Express rather than the damage their ludicrous brexit is slowly having on our economy.

It's time for us to forget who won or lost. 'It's easier to con someone, than it is to have them admit they've been conned' was penned many years ago, and it will sadly take many more years of decline before brexit voters admit the promises they believed they were voting for were nothing but bullshit.

I hope "Make Brexit work" is soon redundant. It can't be done. Its damage can only be alienated, but "Alleviate Brexit" isn’t exactly a catchy slogan.
