How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

I lived in the now EU for over a decade before the EU was as it is now, and that figure shows that you can move abroad if you really want to.

Rules of life change and they change constantly, but if you want it you can do it. If remain would have done a better job of convincing people then we wouldn't be in this mess in the first place.

How many foreigners from outside the EU live in the EU? The recent figure is 24 million, that's 24 million people who don't reside in the EU are living there now.

My argument isn't in bad faith it's just dispelling the many myths generated by people who didn't like the decision.
You're not dispelling any 'myths'

Countries such as Spain had a choice post-Brexit; they could either make it easy for British expats to remain in the country or more difficult.

They chose the difficult route and they don’t appear keen to welcome in any more into the country.

That’s their choice and the top and bottom of it.
Rubbish

Rubbish …. There was no ‘choice’ to make . The rules applicable to third countries were already in place prior to Brexit. We knew what would happen (or should have done ) if we voted to leave.

The fact that France and Spain are advocating a reform of the 90 day rule suggests the contrary.

The UK has or will ultimately become a third country in most aspects vis-a-vis the EU once the various transition periods expire, but scope exists for bilateral agreements and the issue of residency is an obvious candidate.

we became a 3rd country on 31/1/2020 - nearly 4 years ago hope you are sending a Brexit Birthday card. Thats the date this happens
then 30th April we get this

I'd advise stocking up but as its mostly perishables there is no point - enjoy your turnip salad

I said that the UK has become a third country or will become a third country once the various transition periods expire, so you posting examples of areas where transition periods still apply is simply proving my point. I don’t really understand what your point is here.

Essentially any areas not covered explicitly by the Withdrawal Agreement have referred to third country status, but issues such as residency for UK citizens already in the EU could have been dealt with in a more generous fashion than they were in the agreement. A very simple example being the 90 day rule, or perhaps a longer period of transition.

Also, as I’ve told you before, I voted Remain in the referendum, so I don’t really understand why you keep on suggesting otherwise. You seem a bit confused on this one.
