How do you assess our transfer business?

Quite happy with our dealing so far and am interested to see if we do anymore business in the next couple of weeks.

Net spend must be quite low considering the sale of Sane, and the wage bill has been reduced as well.

Would like to see KK arrive but you never know.

Are u serious, wow.
If KK on board that’s last years major problem sorted.
Peps final year main issue, I agree with you on that

we are still awaiting that signing & what worries me are Aguero injuries with no real back up striker, Mendy injuries, ferns age, gundy age & lack of a settled back 4.

if players are thinking pep off after the season the motivation of older players will not be easy either

it’s a transitional season for me.

Depends what the expectation is really. I was expecting us to go all out challenging in all fronts and therefore I'm disappointed but I can see how some people view this as a decent transitional window.
I'm no believer in miracles and this 1 and half month off won't make our players be able to defend the counter better or be more clinical suddenly.

All the signs since the season ended have been of us wanting to make a statement and be immediately back challenging, in the transfer market this hasn't materialized for sure.

Surprised we’ve not added another midfielder. Silva has left, Bernardo and Foden have rarely played that role so your left with Gundogan.

Which will be our downfall.

Rodri and Gundo can't do what Fernandinho has done.

Without him in centre midfield the team was less solid.

The difference between Chelsea's summer window and ours is stark.

Kind of hard to say since there's still so much business to do. I'm a little disappointed that we haven't been more aggressive to be honest. I feel like this summer was an opportunity to proactively refresh the squad and we didn't really seem to try. I would've liked to be in on Havertz, Felix, or Dybala. I also think we could've looked for an athletic midfielder to offer something different to Rodri/Gundo at the 8 and should've resolved the Zinchenko/Mendy situation. Given the money we've spent it's really kind of crazy that leftback is an issue heading into yet another season.

That said, assuming we can replace Otamendi with Koulibaly before the window's up we're much improved at the back with him and Ake, so that's great news. The signing of the summer though is obviously Torres. He looks incredibly exciting and if he develops like everyone thinks he will it'll be the best deal we've done in ten years. That alone makes the window a 7/10.

Underwhelmed.

Unable to shift deadwood and unable to secure fees for others. The lack of money is evident across most leagues and our problem positions, which were evident from the opening weeks of last season, remain problems. Unless that changes in the coming weeks, will probably require a bigger rebuild down the line.

Excited with Torres, cautious about Ake (I don't think he is a great defender but with pep he will improve, happy to be proven wrong).

But ultimately failure to secure a first choice, fast and strong, right sided centre back, given our fire need, means anything less is a failure ultimately.

I think this season will come down to whether Chelsea gel quickly enough to challenge us and Liverpool, or if united get another thirty odd penalties... Arsenal a dark horse.

You can look at this in various ways:

Against our problems last year: Getting Ake in is good, but no striker so thin there again.

Against players we have lost: replacing Kompany was still outsanding and Silva is un replacable. Ake is a good signing as he is young and knows the league, not VK but a solid option. We all want Foden to have a chance at replacing Silva and Bernado can play more too.

Against other teams: Only Chelsea look like they have made big upgrades. In Europe not much is happening.

Against what is available: There is not much out there, KK if a deal can be done but I dont want to see us ripped off. There is no striker that I think we should be going balls deep for.

Messi was fun not that bothered he decided to stay - next year all sorts of doors start to open so lets get on with this season and see how it goes.

So basically all those who are underwhelmed are all of the opinion that a lack of CB is the reason why.
We sign KK, which I'm sure will happen and everyone is happy?
Of course not, this is bluemoon...
