How do you class a good mate,mates

I have lot's of mates but how do you define the good ones. I'm miles away from manc but good mates always come through. They know when you are down and bring you up. I had the best day today since xmas, nothing special a meal etc game of footie with my mates kids.

I hope you guys/girls have mates like i had today.

Quite right. I could probably name 100 acquaintances off the top of my head. I could narrow that down to 12 good pals but then narrow that down to maybe 2/3 who I could ring up at 2am and say 'I'm stuck in London can you come and
Get me" and they'd reply, "I'll just put me jeans on"
