How does booing help?

Seriously can one of you "booers" explain this to me?

no one can justify booing our team, i said this the other day, come on here and moan all you like, i do myself, but you never boo the team. ever.

Interesting dilemma this one for me.

Been thinking since the Derby that I need to soften my vocal approach having been told off for barracking Scholes and constantly referring to him as a "little ginger Tw.t' which obviously upset several copper tops in my locality (no offence).

Where I sit in the Colin Bell it really can be like a morgue sometimes (Move is defo on the cards)
I have always been vocal and loud. When the red mist descends these days I am finding myself getting more and more enraged at the City fans who just sit there and do jack shit.

Leading on to the dilemma,is it better to sit quiet or Boo?

I have never chosen to boo my team but I can understand why some fans do.
Surely that passion is what makes us fanatical in the first place.

A couple of seasons ago I was unfortunte to sit at Goodison park amongst the home support.
My word, that opened my eyes. They create a cauldron. So do Stoke

Fans do have the power to influence the team.

Arsenal and Spurs are regulary booed when the team underperforms.

We do not demand enough as a group of fans IMHO.

I've never booed any player or manager past or present but I can understand fans letting their frustration out by booing.

You yourself admit you would never boo so consciously, or subconsciously, you're aware that it can serve no positive purpose.

So what's the point?
Dunno about the point but surely paying fans are allowed to voice their anger especially after that performance. I went god knows how many miles to watch us get turned over in poland, did the players come over and clap us at the end of the game ? Did they fuck.
If its about respect then it works both ways. As I say I didn't boo never have, never will.

Can someone explain why we need to "help" a bunch of professionals paid tens of thousands of pounds a week?

If they're not performing to an acceptable standard then they need to know. If that doesn't get the message home to them then they need to be shipped out.

Say you went for an expensive meal and the courses all arrived at different times, were either burned or under-cooked and it generally tasted like shit, would you meekly say "That was lovely"?

I like you mate (and your funny threads), but that is a crap analogy I am afraid. If you aren't bothered about "helping" these professionals (as they get highly paid), would it not be easier and cheaper to buy a rag season ticket (ie go to a pub and watch the games in a comfy seat with a beer in hand)?

So all the talk of the 12th man etc is no bollocks as we are now rich? Let's be as quiet as the they are at the Bridge or the swamp. "We pay our money, enter-fucking-tain us you bunch of overpaid cunts!!!"

Has money changed us? It sadly seems that way.

All football fans, in every country of the world, boo when they are not happy. It's been part of the game for over 100 years.

I'm just happy we've got 2 away games now. Hopefully the same crowd from West Brom will be at Fulham and Stoke.

Don't be silly Dave. We invented booing in 2010.

Oh yes. Because we are ungrateful arseholes and the worst supporters in the land.

Allthough I don't agree with Boo-ing I believe in freedom of speech. For the brave men who lost there lives to allow us this freedom we gave a minutes silence. If people disagree with boo-ing then why not drown out the noise by clapping the team off showing support then the players would not hear the minority.

that's what I did as soon as people started singing Bellamy's name, I started chanting we love you city we do to SUPPORT my team because I am a SUPPORTER

I don't think I have seen a post of yours that I have disagreed on, ever.

The reality is any more performances like that and it won't be just boos you'll be hearing. Sad but true.
