Yes i know we are only five days into the window, but (if the parker deal goes ahead) we will have bought a player from a team who are struggling like us, and a player who couldn't hold down a regular place at his last club. Dn't get me wrong, I think Bridge is a quality left back, and being left out due to cole is by no means embarrasing. Yesterday, i posted a pro-parker thread, and i still believe he will improve us, but the question is how much? I was excited at the prospect of top class players, like Cambiasso etc, as i believed if we got a few really good players, who other clubs would in effect be jealous of we could go on a really good run in the second half of the season and really push up the table. Bridge is a big improvement, and parker is good, but no top 4 teams are going to turn round and say 'ah i really wish we had parker, i wish we had the sort of money city do to get him.' He will improve s no doubt..but he isn't the player ho is going to turn around season for us and help us go on a good run a lot of us ere expecting. I know there is a lot longer to go in the window, and i don't have a clue who we will buy, but i am just commenting on what has happened so far, and what Mark Hughes seems to hint he will buy.

I suspect for ADUG it's Europe or bust, which may explain why they maybe seriously pissed about Saturdays result.

Bridge and Parker will help to get us back into the top 8. Were very lucky the league is so tight that's it's not impossible to do.

I seem to remember that around the time of the takeover we were told that Chelsea were being used as a model of how to succeed.

Well, we've bought Bridge, SWP...now Parker? Maybe someone took things a bit too literally ;)

Oh Shit. The next signing will be Winston Bogarde!!!

By my reckoning, we can get as high as about 7th without a run for the ages, of course that will not be good enough for Europe this year(unless the cups work in our favour). Hughes is a deadman walking now the axe might not fall today but SGE set the bar and missing out on Europe will be the final nail in the coffin.

Given

Zab Toure Dunne Bridge

Kompany Parker

Swp Ireland Robinho

Santa cruz

if going of the current rumours are anything to go by i think this line up would see us get back to 7-8th
