Neither here nor there!
Since i have my back up this fine grey manchester morning, i felt a thread to air our feelings specifically at about rag supporters and your local community.

I'm 29 and in my time on this earth this is the best time i have ever had as a football fan, i, like most here have been a blue all my life.
I am the only blue in a family of rags from a town that is either red or blue (Hazel Grove). The blues here have taken so much crap over the years its hard to comprehend if your not from the Manchester area (dont say i should support county as i knew about city before i knew about county).
Your boss/father/brother/best mate/mum/sis etc all of them love to give you the hump.

Now it has changed, its a new thing for me, yes the older fellas know the good times but many of us don't. I can say with honesty now that i can stand eye to eye with them and say "yeah well lets see how smug you are when we play you" and the look on their face you could not buy.
They fear us and we have knocked them well out of their comfy little nest of being top dog (yes we have work to do but you get my point), yes they have recent success and history i wont begrudge that but its the future we all focus on.

Last night i went for a quick pint before last orders and the usual rag comedians never said a word, yeah i got the "oh fuck a blue cnut boo" kind of shit but not the shit we used to get.

I know this may seem a useless post to some but to me it means the world as these are my mates and for them to be wary of us means a lot not to mention it saves me having to argue our corner for 5 minutes before i can buy a damned pint and i bloody love it xD

What are your thoughts and stories on how we are regarded now especially in your local and the like ?

Not really made a difference. Only one of my friends in my little group is also a blue. The rest are rags, not die-hard in the slightest though. Two of them stated that they'd rather watch the F1 then football. First match they saw last year was the 2nd leg against Shalke. Only one of my mates is a true die-hard. He tends to get pissed and talk shit (O'Shea is a better CB then Vinny was one of his better ones). He's also a typical rag WUM. One minute it's the treble, then when they lose in the Semi it's "Mickey mouse cup anyway". Can't wait until next year. They're running scared.

I have had regular arguments with rags for longer than I care to mention, previously I've had to put up with their rhetoric without much of an answer but nowadays, like you said, I can stand eye to eye with them. They may go on about "history" etc but I just refer to us being a valid option for any top quality player and that is enough, they say about us buying players and splashing money about and I just reply that they were paying £30m for players ten years ago. They will do/say anything to put us down, just like they always have, but it all boils down to them being scared of us.
I think a lot of 'em can't understand why we're still so enthusiastic about our club after going through years of despair, they've wanted us to sink without a trace in those years but we've stayed loyal and that alone is the reason why our owners seen us as a club worth buying.

Without realising it I have become a much happier person. Someone at work actually said that they used to be quite wary of me up until the last year or so. Made me think a bit to be honest. + it`s nice that the rags I have to speak to from day to day no longer take the piss. Come on City.
