how many more Mourinho threads?? - see this & think a little

Mourinho wants immortality - he'll go where he thinks he can do best, and he said he suffered the most during that period after Chelsea and before he got the Inter job when he wasn't in football... he truly loves the challenge, and is motivated by WINNING.

speculating upon anything else seems a touch silly, but listening to what he's actually said, especially about winning the British, Italian, and SPANISH leagues, I'd have to conclude (especially as we have a manager just come in) that all the talk about him turning up at City is utter &$%*@!

also, when I see people still ranting on about the latter it really makes me wonder.

This has nothing to do with 'truth'. It is about opinion. This is my opinion just as your opinion is the exact opposite. The truth has nothing to do with it.

Furthermore neither my opinion, or your opinion or indeed anyone's opinion on this forum will make the slightest difference to what will actually happen in the summer with regard to where Mourinho will manage next.

Chelski weren't much of a name before Roman and Mouriniho arrived. Jose sees himself as a one off. Any old twat can manage RM or MUFC. Chelski (then) and City (now) is a whole new ball game.

Absolutely ridiculous reasoning (if you can call it that!?)

LOL BobKowalski you're wasting your time trying to talk sense to people on here about Mourinho mate. The vast majority have convinced themselves that he's desperate to come here and we're the most likely option. The thought of him going to liveprool or the rags are brushed off instantly because 'they've got no money'. It's laughable

He's come out now and said he has a clause in his contract to leave Inter whenever he wants to,

i keep saying i don't want mancini sacked, but if Jose wanted to come in the summer and we didn't get him, a part of me would be absolutely gutted, he's the only manager i wanted to replace Hughes, it was him or no one else.

The thought that Mourinho would be available and happy to come here, and we'd turn round and say 'thanks, but no thanks', just made me lol.

got a couple of scouse friends who reckon hes going to them in the summer, mourinho like money they havent a pot to piss in. makes me chuckle

I seriously can see new owners at Liverpool sometime soon they can't carry on the way they are doing they need fresh ideas, new owners and a change of management... Thats where he'll be next to be honest.

If he does come here I hope he stops his whining. He makes Ferguson look like a composed and dignified gentleman the way he carries on over in Italy 'oh we lost because football is corrupt', 'we lost because we were cheated', he makes Keegan in his last weeks at City look sane and reasonable.

I must be in the minority regarding Mourinho. I just think he's not the sort of man to stay around anywhere for too long. If he'd won the C.L. at Chelsea I honestly believe he would have moved on soon afterwards.
It seems to me that once he's proved himself at a club (League, C.L. or both) he wants to move on to pastures new. As if he's exorcising his inner demons by proving himself all the time.
To him there's no passion for the club he's representing: he seems to relish the challenge of taking a team to the dizzy heights, and then dropping them to seek a different challenge elsewhere

If he wins the C.L. this season you can bet your life he'll be off to Real Madrid to win it with them, then probably head to the Bundesliga with Bayern or someone and repeat the trick there.

Personally I'd rather we stuck with Bobby. Build a stable base to begin with and work onwards and upwards. Give him the chance to get his own players in and see where that takes us.

I get that impressinion also Kent and I also agree with sticking with Mancini.

I think everyone's still missing the main points here that Mourinho himself has spoken about consistently:-

- he wants to be the ONLY manager to have ever won titles in all the big leagues (since he's not managed a Spanish club yet, guess what that's likely to mean?)

- he's already rejected the job at City (possibly because of the above factor)

you could add:

- our owners are not jokers (and I believe them to be professional and to know what they're doing and make rational and informed, calculated decisions.. give or take a transfer deal or two - in my opinion of course, as there are always ulterior reasons & justifications)

So why are people still harping on about a non-story??

Perhaps in another few years if Manciti's moved on to manage Italia or for other reasons, and Mourinho's got his other silverware and wishes to reside back in the UK (prior to managing his national side in his 'semi'-retirement) then maybe we'll have a real story to speculate on.

As for all the nonsense about whether he's this or that, what difference does it make? We're not able to sign Cruyff to play for us, so what would people think if I kept banging on about how great a player he'd make in our midfield or on our wing, or how he'd contribute in a different 'total football' system if we'd also get out our time machine and resurrect Rinus Michels too. I mean, he was the coach of the century (and I might not argue with that) so let's get him in if we're just going to carry on like petulant kids given the keys to a candy store?!

yeah, but Alan, we have a good manager - and he's still figuring his way around and he hasn't even had a proper transfer window so far, yet we're still seeing all these ridiculous threads and 'discussions'.

it bemuses me, totally.

- and it's not the people on this thread, lol, it's what you see on this board every five minutes!

maybe we should have a special corner (probably next to the naughty step) for them to all congregate and hang out on?

;o)

Firstly, anyone claiming to know the mindset of the man is in denial. None of us know whether he would prefer to go to an established giant, or not. Let us not forget that Inter weren't exactly shit when he took them over, Mancini had just won 3 Serie A's on the bounce. He went there purely for the Champions League, and it isn't a stretch to imagine that he could go to Madrid for the same reasons.

I disagree with those who are saying that he will never go to Liverpool. Liverpool are a big club, and well established. If any manager were to receive certain guarantees regarding the finances, I don't see why they wouldn't relish the challenge of bring back the dominance of them.

If Mourinho fancied the opportunity to splash the cash a bit, then it's possible he could come here. Apart from this though, he doesn't have a reason to. Our squad is good, but not good enough to win the CL or the league in my opinion. And we are notoriously fickle when it comes to managers, there would be a lot of uncertainty surrounding our owners if Bobby were to go at the end of the season and I would imagine that this would put many of the big names off. We don't have the prestige or setup that they have at Madrid to allow for this sort of thing.

Personally, I can only see him going to United. He is pretty much constantly up the arse of them and Ferguson, even to the point of having Darren Ferguson over at Inter for a bit at the request of his Dad. He constantly says nice things about them, and after Ferguson goes it will be a monumental task of filling his boots, which he could fancy. If the Glazers got anybody else apart from him or a company man, there would be riots. They should appoint their First Team Coach Rene Meulensteen next, but they won't.
