No, the head to rule rule only comes in if two teams finish level on points, goal difference and goals scored - previously if that happened there would be a play off game to decide the outcome.

The reason so many think the head to head rule replaced G/D is because it was poorly communicated by many in the media.

Weirdly, the Mail reported it correctly:

Teams finishing level on points, goal difference and goals scored in next season's Premier League will be separated by head-to-head records - not goal difference.

Any result between United and Liverpool will be good for us:

Liverpool win, we are champions.
United win, Liverpool out of the CL.
They draw, Liverpool out of the CL, and we get the chance to win the league vs Chelsea.
