How much do City train?

you dont get "fitter the more you train", once a ceiling has been reached, which is different for each player btw, then maintaining that level is the aim. Each player has a regime tailored to his needs and abilities as evaluated by coaches and specialists.
Watching a Pep team, it's clear that improving technical skills and awareness of opportunities is paramount, the fitness levels are taken for granted. Getting the best out of our squad is not just about "stronger-faster", other teams rely on that but City have a psychological factor, be it confidence, attitude, or whatever, that sets us apart. Special training drills maybe, my theory is that Pep is remorseless in his push for perfection, and the players have belief, know he wont tolerate less than 100% commitment.
May it last for years.......

90 mins, 2hrs max. Warm up, daily routine depending on day of week and last game/next game, tactics, get some running in. Done.

At this time of the season, with a Sat-Weds-Sat schedule, Sunday warm down for players, training for non-players. *Monday light training at most, possibly film, treatment, massage, special routines. Tuesday, light training, tactics. If away game on Weds, travel in afternoon. Weds, light session in the late morning, lunch & nap.

*The SECOND day after a match is more difficult for the players than the day after. They’re stiffer, sorer, etc 36-48 hrs after, so that day is crucial for seeing where each player is physically.

In the meantime, players will have specific videos pushed to their personal devices for viewing.

Lather, rinse, repeat!

Back in the day,at Carrington, used to go and watch them loads of times, used to come out around 10.15 and do various things until 12,then that was it,apart from Anelka,he used to practice free kicks at a reserve keeper for an extra 20 mins or so,then they would all go for lunch, then get in their fancy motors and leave, used to also see rags leaving same time on the main road,I remember giving Neville the fingers as he drove past, childish I know, but left me feeling smug for rest of day

How many free kicks did he score for us? Struggling to remember more than one...and I think that was deflected!

Maybe he should have spent those 20 minutes a day doing something more productive?

To practice the offside rule would have been a great start, but he stayed behind taking pot shots almost every time I went down watching, which was a lot
