True the sending off is a blessing in disguise. For all the penalties (handballs etc) we deserve but didn't get & the non-foul calls too. Caldwell scissored Tevez, IMO thats a red card!
Well if you look at the OS highlights you will see that we had most chances, we should have at least 2 penalties, swp was brutally kicked down at least twice without even a freekick given... in second half we truly put the pressure on them and we didnt play as bad as so many seem to think if you watch a replay of the game... the caldwell sent off helped us but if you look at it this way he clearly handballed the ball moments earlier... thats one yellow... then he would have earned another yellow for the kicking down of tevez... and to be fair he had some brutal tackling going around for most of the match that could have earned him yellows earlier than the sent off... so all in all it the sent off was wrong but he should have been having his second yellow at least at that point...scall said:The Caldwell sending off (unfair for them) tipped it in our favour, before that Wigan could easily have scored. And the way we are at the moment, whoever scores whether it's us or the opposition can usually seal the game.
Main thing is that we got the goals, got the result.
Yes thats the TIPPING point. Refs need to protect our marquee player more often!gman07 said:Well if you look at the OS highlights you will see that we had most chances, we should have at least 2 penalties, swp was brutally kicked down at least twice without even a freekick given... in second half we truly put the pressure on them and we didnt play as bad as so many seem to think if you watch a replay of the game... the caldwell sent off helped us but if you look at it this way he clearly handballed the ball moments earlier... thats one yellow... then he would have earned another yellow for the kicking down of tevez... and to be fair he had some brutal tackling going around for most of the match that could have earned him yellows earlier than the sent off... so all in all it the sent off was wrong but he should have been having his second yellow at least at that point...scall said:The Caldwell sending off (unfair for them) tipped it in our favour, before that Wigan could easily have scored. we earned the win through tremendous team spirit and hard work... not fancy passing and show off... we won because we wanted it most of the teams yesterday... and when the first goal went in we just kept at it... instead of the usual defending... we kept the pressure on!

the first two chances wigan got came right after we had penalty calls in the other end... 2 blatant handballs with at least one the ref saw very clearly so if the ref had done his job those chances should even have happened... but its all ifs and buts and in the end the best team on the day wonBLUEMOONBAZ said:Tbh .. we could have been 2 down before we even got moving , tevez copped for a lot of stick and that probably swayed the ref , but city and 10 men dont usually go well
so considering we played better against everton and got beaten i will be accept a bit off luck and tevez boundless energy
