Short video arguing that without the plague, the Reformation may never have happened.
I think the plague didn't cause the reformation, but it caused a slow-burn change of ideas that helped it along.Bit a stretch since the Reformation was about 150 years after the Black Death.
One can only only assume then, that the escalation in the amount of back door breaching advice on here follows Anti Viral advancements in the treatment of A.I.D.sI remember watching something about how puritanism was possibly caused by an epidemic of syphilis, which was a far more serious and visually unpleasant thing before the invention of antibiotics. So it's not that far-fetched that major social movements can come out of epidemics.
I've never heard about that, but it sounds interesting. I read a book on how diseases change history a few years ago.I remember watching something about how puritanism was possibly caused by an epidemic of syphilis, which was a far more serious and visually unpleasant thing before the invention of antibiotics. So it's not that far-fetched that major social movements can come out of epidemics.
Maybe didn't cause it straight away, but weakened the Catholic church over time to make the Reformation more powerful.Bit a stretch since the Reformation was about 150 years after the Black Death.
Not at all, I just find the subject interesting, but if snacks are on offer, count me in lol. You're on a religion kick tonight fella? This could be, er, eventful.
