Here's an old schoolfriends latest moronic Facebook update:

just seen a city fan lookin in the window at Thomas cook in cheadle! Either he thought it was the charity shop next door or he was lookin at the exchange rate on dirhams for when the Arabs take over the world! He certainly weren't lookin for flights from heathrow to Europe cos they can't even get past Stoke!! MASSIVE...

Here's my reply:

HEATHROW to Europe? Erm, we fly from Manchester generally, what with it being closer to where we live!

And how has not beating Stoke affected our chances of Europe? People in glass houses shouldn't really throw stones. We got knocked out by PREMIERSHIP Stoke in the 5th round! You lot couldn't get past THIRD DIVISION Leeds in the 3rd! lol!

How's the protest coming along by the way? Have these Japanese fellows managed to come up with a way for a company with no money to takeover another company owned by someone that doesn't want to sell yet. No? Thought not!

Green Army!

I borrowed the bit about the takeover from a post on here a few days ago, but the long term memory issues that these wankers suffer from seem to be getting worse! I thought they were generally at least able to remember back as far as 1992, but this one seems to be unable to stretch his mind back even as far as January this year!

Tosspot! I'm gonna toy with him for a bit then delete the fucker! He's obviously still the same pleb he was at school!

he will probably just say 34 years back to you. thats the only argument they actually have.

Thats why i said at start of season a trophy more important than top 4, with everything to look forward to with latest developments they only have that to throw at us, Chumps league will happen but we need a trophy then they will crawl back under the stones

And thats still 3 years less than their longest barren spell, so hopefully he will come back with that & I can bask in being able to smuggly give him a lesson in his own clubs less than perfect history!

And everytime I simply say yes we're still here, and thanks for that banner reminding everyone how loyal we are. City till I die!

Absolutely class mate. he will not be able to come back to that

At least we put up a fight against Stoke, the rags have no excuse for getting nothing in after Beckford's goal for Leeds at HOME.

And yeah, haha, he will probably respond with something along the lines of "hurhur 34 years! Hurhur bitter!!11"

You should have also said "Hate United Love Glazer"!

1911 - 1948.

37 Years. No doubt they'll use the '2 world wars' excuse.

2 gulf wars & one Falklands war..........that's without mentioning the Vietnam or six day war so don't let them use that old chestnut.
ps.the suez crisis was nearly a war.

"It was ONLY Barcelona..."

in 1938, just one season before league football stopped for 7 years, the rags squeezed into the 2nd promotion spot in division 2 and city were relegated despite being the highest scorers in a very tight division 1. only 4 points separated the 11 teams in the bottom half of the table and city were only 16 points behind champions arsenal.

the 1930's had been a very successful period for city while the rags had been total shite for the previous 20 years, half of which was spent in the 2nd division watched by a crowds of a few thousand. it was their good luck that after the war they were in place in division 1 when busby became manager and he kicked them on from there. although city were 2nd division champions in the first season after the war their momentum and many of their players from the 1930's had been lost.

hitler has a lot to answer for.

That is an absolutely incredible statistic!

Almost a great stat; it was only 2 points for a win back then, so we'd have been 8 games behind them.
