i've been using it for 3 weeks now and it's the best around

you need to have vlc player installed (win = http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html) (mac = http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html)

once you download the correct file for your system (windows = https://dl.getdropbox.com/u/1808775/britishtv-windows.zip) & (mac = https://dl.getdropbox.com/u/1808775/britishtv-mac.zip)....unzip it

within the unzipped folder...double click the British TV icon

this will open up a selection box with the channels and a number >>>>

enter the number and hit enter

this boots the selected channel up into vlc player and plays....ENJOY!!

or you could simply register for free at the above site which gives you all the same channels as freeview.
ideal for ss news whilst in work.

Shady, or anyone else with any technical bent/flair - please can you tell me why this was working on my computer fine before my re-install but not now?

I run BTV but it opens up in the DOS box then collapses and disappears.. it used to stay open and get me the VLC feed of the channel selected... why doesn't it like me anymore??

Thank you!

this only works for UK residents... (or for people who may have a fancy 'UK-proxy' which as yet I've not yet figured out either)

Ok, I managed to capture a fleeting screen shot to see what on earth the problem was:-

any ideas anyone??

is the programme now buggered?

does anyone have a fix for this line of code which is thwarting me from seeing the real 'sauce' of stuff like this:-

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iv2WCNoxUHw&feature=related" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iv2WCNox ... re=related</a>

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5P7CgKvhpoo&feature=related" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5P7CgKvh ... re=related</a>

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmGrVIFGOB4&NR=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmGrVIFGOB4&NR=1</a>

and this, ehehe:-

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C38ojEsOKc4&feature=related" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C38ojEsO ... re=related</a>

The direct links related to each channel were leaked by other people wanting to program their own applications. Thus, the links were changed to the feeds which is why only some channels work and others don't now. There's a thread on MYP2P forums about it, i read the above about 6 weeks ago.

it has always worked for me on most of the channels I wanted to see, but since my re-install (XP & everything else) I've had no luck getting it to run on my system and consistently get nothing except that error message I posted above that flashes on and off so quickly you can't even read it.

are you sure the problems I've got have anything to do with the problem you describe above?
