How would you change the UK political system if you could?

One of the best books I've ever read - very thought provoking. The films, however, are a let down.
When reading it, a song of the same name (by Yes) also goes through my head.
Sergeant Zim for PM!
An interesting book as it is on the reading lists of most democratic armies in the world today. Not for describing the future but for the morals and team responsibilities that should be seen in the citizen solider.

A good article - but incorrect in one respect that Rico is a Philippino. His mother happens to be in Buenos Aires when the meteor strikes.

I think that pr sounds good but nothing would ever really get done
Look at brexit with a hung parliament

I would prefer you vote for the policy not the party
I bet 90% would vote for the same things
Never happen though

One does wonder how many many countries with PR not only gets things done but often much better than us.

The point is though that governments that work in coalition and have PR have to have a much more mature conversation in order for policy decisions to be made in the first place. See it more as it starts to change behaviour rather than assessing it against everyone working in the same way as they do now.

If that’s the case it feels like we are miles away
I get the point and agree in principle with it

Not that it would matter if we had PR, but I'd like to see an end to the Govt of the day (they all do it) meddling with constituency boundaries to load the dice in their favour at the next GE

Why does one party need to govern 69m people? What need is there for big countries?

Can't stand PR.
The British electorate share my opinion too as the referendum for changing the voting system resulted in a crushing defeat for PR.
No it didn't. PR was never voted on, they insisted on it being a referendum about FPTP or some other bullshit system that was so complicated they knew it would never win (and if it did, it wouldn't be much different). And the reason the Tories never agreed to vote on actual PR is because they knew it would risk destroying their party forever. They never win by majority and they know that more often than not, the other parties agree on most things so they would basically be frozen out of most coalitions.
