How would you rate our transfer window?

The only downside is Liverpool. However we cannot control what other people do.

7.5/10

Mahrez makes it better than previous summer windows after league wins where we were complacent. - 2.5 as we missed out on Jorginho and didn't have a plan B.

If you look at previous windows in comparison then you can see we are trying to cut out taking risks and buying players that we'll just end up selling and losing money on.

11/12 - Aguero, Nasri, Savic, Clichy
12/13 - Javi Garcia, Nastasic, Rodwell, Sinclair, Maicon
13/14 - Fernandinho, Jovetic, Negredo, Navas, Demichelis
14/15 - Mangala, Fernando, Cabalerro. Zucullini
15/16 - De Bruyne, Sterling, Otamendi, Delph, Roberts, Unal
16/17 - Stones, Sane, Gundogan, Nolito, Bravo, Moreno
17/18 - Mendy, Walker, B.Silva, Ederson, Danilo, Douglas Luiz

Our 3 windows before this one have made it so we only have to buy 1 or 2 players each summer for the next few years. Then if we need something in the here and now we'll do it in Jan(Laporte, Jesus). This should hopefully mean instead of buying the likes of Nolito, Jovetic, Fernando, entire 12/13 window we will start bedding in youngsters in those places. Also means the players we do buy can be expensive as we don't have to budget for multiple positions. Good times

I forgot how bad the 12/13 and 14/15 windows turned out

Why is there window a downside for us?
Put it this way if City bought £50m of good players, and our rivals bought £200m of good players, we'd be happy to have signed our players but be worried that they have improved relative to us. That is the purpose of a transfer window to improve your side and that is benchmarked by the 'market'

Are you looking for the weak points in an argument so you can stick your oar in? Stir it a little?

Not great, we have been chasing a defensive midfielder since last summer and our two picks have ended up not only not coming but going to rivals. Had hoped we would find a solid back-up keeper and offload Bravo and we are weak in numbers at both fullback positions. On the plus side Mahrez offers something we haven't really had before and is legitimate coverage upfront for injuries when Sergio is out for his 10 games a season from being kicked all over the place(normally from Crystal Palace!).

That doesn't mean to say we won't have enough to do very well, but its hard to consider it a success.

Sorry mate but I agree with him, they may have bought £200m of good players but they are not good enough for us. So why does it affect us?

Not enough numbers at both full back positions? Walker, Danilo at RB, how many RBs do we need then? Well covered in LB too despite having only 1 natural LB. Don't see the issue.

As for the window, 6/10. We needed a DM, that was the key signing. Failed to get despite having all year to get one. Not good at all and that may harm our UCL ambitions.

9/10 as far as the overall squad is concerned, best squad in the prem.....

As far as transfer business goes....average! (6/10)

Identified but didnt fill biggest need even tho the club knew they dont have specific players to cover.

Mahrez great player in terms of talent and excellent price but it doesnt fill our biggest need. Squad is strong and we'll be fine but impossible to say window was a complete success when you spend all summer trying to fill biggest need but fail.

Hoping we have a plan for Jan window...
