Huddersfield (H) Post Match Thread

When we failed to score in the first 25 mins after a string of early chances, I thought, “ here we go again!” But the added verve and menace of Mendy, and the long ball sucker punch one two from Ederson and Aguero, soon opened up Huddersfield, and it was game over, and a matter of how many we could get.
Absolutely no complaints from me, apart from... nah, forget it

Excellent today. The success of that system can't really be judged on today though as Huddersfield were totally and utterly clueless, their game play seemed to just be don't get Twatted. We may see more of it at home against lower teams willing to sit back and just hope for a point, against stronger teams there's some vulnerabilities but I suspect he wouldn't play that system against teams that might contemplating trying to attack.

Can't fault anybody, all were impressive, perhaps none more so than Mendy who is an absolute animal however special mention to how sharp Sergio looked. After the surgery at the end of last season to fix a pain that he's said has been with him for 5 years, if today's performance is anything to go by, we can expect an even better Aguero this season which hardly seems possible.

Opposition needs to be considered, I think they'll go down this year but a great statement to make in our first game after the kdb injury news.
That set up will only to be used against 5-4-1 or similar variations of the bus park formation.

After finishing the documentary yesterday I didn't think my love for this club could grow any deeper.

Well, I was wrong. Absolutely amazing City. Passionate, fun, dominant, technically brilliant and tactically unbelievable.

Kevin De Who?

Pep did his home work it seems :)

6-1 vs a deep sitting team! What would the score be if the other team involved tried to win the match?..
Shots 32-5. On target 14-1.

That said - and of course there is always something to improve :) - we could do better finding the next player standing in front of an empty goal.

Not a problem if we win 6-1, but generally something we can do better.

Anyway, very well done City!

Absolutely left me open mouthed in wonder that showing and I have followed us for over fifty years. I think it's what you would call a complete team performance and it could easily have been ten. So many fantastic individual performances too, the rest of the league must look at that and be very worried indeed!

40+ years I’ve been following city and I can honestly say, it’s the greatest football I’m ever likely to see.
