We beat a bus 6-1 with KDB, Sané, Sterling and Mahrez not in the starting 11. That is some serious firepower.

I only watched the last 20 minutes and I was also confused by the formation.

Was it:
Ederson
Stones-Kompany-Laporte
D Silva-Dinho-Gundogan-Mendy
B Silva
Aguero-Gabriel

or

I couldn't figure out who was playing on the right wing
 
Every player looked desperate to impress and keep their place in the team. Genuine competition in nearly every area of the pitch now..
 
I think I figured it out after watching some extended highlights. It was a 3-1-4-2. It was in other words quite similar to the 4-1-4-1 Pep usually plays, but with an extra striker and 3 in the back. He sacrificed his wing backs, but Mendy played in an attacking role in Sterling's place.
 
Not read the whole thread. Has Gundogan received any credit for today's performance?
 
Had to laugh today when Mendy got some water from a fan in the east stand a few rows back. Drank some and then chucked it back in the stand.
 
Although Serge, Merlin & Mendy are getting rave reviews I thought Gabby was brilliant today!
Got stuck in and worked his socks off.
Really unlucky to skew that shot towards the end.
Would have capped off a great performance.
 
manchester city was class today and control the game from start to finish and anybody watching the game when sky was showing the players out in the stand and on the bench you got the feeling the others are shaking at what this squad can do this season, the bench and the rest of this squad could easy be a top 4 team on there own right and that's the scary thing and we have youth coming up and demanding a place in the squad also, it is just the start of the build for me and i said it could not get any better than last season well it can and this squad will get better and better

i joked about city could really hurt teams and score double figures and people laughed ?? well today we could have scored 10 or more and the stat's show over 30 shots on goal 14 on target and 6 or 7 players out or on the bench
