Huddersfield (H) Post Match Thread

It really could have been ten (again!)

Everyone played well, thought that was Jesus’ best game for us. Mendy may struggle defensively for ten games a season but looks like he may be in contention for Premier League POTS from the other 28 games if today is anything to go by. And David Silva was unbelievable!

David Silva Ole...

Both you and the guy you replied to are potty.
Gundogan was great, linked play throughout.
Jesus, as all with a little football knowledge can see is years ahead of his age.
His movement is incredible; I do not understand some people.
Got me wrong. I'm 100 per cent in agreement with you. I'm very much both a gundogan and jesus fan. Jesus had a cracker, the point I'm making is that because he's Jesus much like aguero or Silva he won't get any criticism for missing a couple of chances. But if gundogan for some reason has any fluctuation at all in his game it's picked at by fans, whilst fuck all is made of others who if gundogan had made there mistakes would be crucified. It's not rationale or fair.

Solid team performance, granted, but I’m just not sure any one player did enough to force himself into Garth Crooks’ team of the weekend...

You see the team he's picked and think to yourself it's an odd line-up and formation.... but then you remember it's Pep. He's seen something nobody else can see and he's come up with a plan that 99 times out of a 100 will work to perfection. No point second guessing him or questioning his thinking because he's a football genius
Yep, and you can bet he has a plan for sort the sousers, he’ll have been thinking about that one all summer

That is no longer a badge of honour. I bet the lads in the changing room, take the piss out of those that make it.

Ah well, it’s never nice to be well and truly thrashed. As soon as I saw our team today I knew it would be a long afternoon. I know you probably get a lot of money comments, about how you’ve bought it all and what not...but there are teams with as much money who just don’t come close to you lot. Last week vs Chelsea I thought we were very unlucky to lose 3-0, this week I feel very lucky to have ‘only’ lost 6-1!

Our midfield was decimated pre match. Just one fully fit central midfielder (Billing). Hogg injured, Bacuna injured, Williams just started training after a broken leg, Mooy’s wife was in labour. We’ve ended up with a centre back (Stankovic) (who has been out with an ACL for over a year playing his first competitive game back in midfield), Sabiri (a 10, for the u21s) and a right back in midfield, a complete mess basically. On top of that we selected zero pace, leaving our four quick wingers on the bench. Our keeper Hamer had a mini nightmare. And Schindler and Kongolo had a reyt old job on with Aguero on that kind of form.

I never expected a result, but we just didn’t have any fight in us today. Our battlers in midfield weren’t playing and no one stepped up. Silva just took us to pieces, one of the best individual performances i’ve seen against Town (granted i’ve seen us play in league 1/2 for a loooong time).

A thoroughly deserved win for you lot, hopefully that’s our last big pasting of the season. I guess our season starts vs Cardiff next week.

Good luck to you, without blowing too much smoke up your arse you’re a genuinely incredible team to watch. As for Town, we’ll stay up, I think...
