Huddersfield (H) Post Match Thread

Got me wrong. I'm 100 per cent in agreement with you. I'm very much both a gundogan and jesus fan. Jesus had a cracker, the point I'm making is that because he's Jesus much like aguero or Silva he won't get any criticism for missing a couple of chances. But if gundogan for some reason has any fluctuation at all in his game it's picked at by fans, whilst fuck all is made of others who if gundogan had made there mistakes would be crucified. It's not rationale or fair.

Spot on, I get pissed off with it too. Why people need at least one player they can criticize is beyond me. It is wonderful to watch.

As someone who has been active in the Gundogan thread trying to protect him from the hate I can assure you he's received praise, even from some who have been critical of him. He's not going to get any special attention though because he was playing a more subtle and supportive role alongside Fernandinho as opposed to being the centre of attention.

In fact the only post I've seen criticising him is the one a couple below yours. Although there have been a couple (if that) of the usual, 'can he do it when we're struggling' kind of posts that unfortunately won't go away until they have their proof.
Cheers fella. I threw it out there as there are those quick to criticize him. However, given he contributed to a 6-1 win it seemed as though when he has played well, this should at least be acknowledged.

also not had time to read all threads-but Gungogan did the same job as Fern[-not all 10/10 s should be given to scorers/goalies or fans favourites

Gundogan was superb. Did the job he is there to do to perfection. Reckon Pep would have had him down as a contender for MOM

Gundogan is looking fitter, more mobile, and hungrier than at any time since he arrived...and quietly played very very well, just like Dinho!

IMHO, there were ZERO poor performances, only a few possible average performances, more than a few above average performances, and a few excellent performances.

“Never felt more like singin the blues, City win, United lose, Oh City, ya got me singin the blues!”

Whisper it quietly.....we are doing better than at the same point last season

They look sharper, hungrier, and more generally “on it” than at the equivalent point. That’s the incredible thing. Sergio looks as good as I’ve ever seen him. Mahrez isn’t quite there yet, in my opinion, and that’s perfectly normal. That will come. Otherwise, every single player is perfectly in tune. The world has been served notice.

Well I'm sorry but 30 years ago we beat them 10 1, yesterday it was only 6.
This Pep guy is just a poor man's Mel Machin. ☺

At the risk of sounding like a nit picker. What has happened to the pitch? First game of the season and it looked very patchy, I know the weather has not been good for grass growing but usually the pitch looks really good but yesterday not too good.
It was indeed bloody awful. As bobbly as a bobbly thing. It had ckearly not recovered from the concerts. It looks like it needed a visit from a steamroller.
