Pep said on his Sky launch show thing they've been working on how to break down teams that play 5-4-1. This will be one of those games so will be interesting to see what the plan is.
Also think we might see three at the back in this.
Think @MarsLlama has it spot on there. Despite form/goals, I don't know if we'll see David for Bernardo for his creative angle and Jesus for Sterling for his link up and poaching.
Yeah I am curious to see what Pep has got up his sleeve. Maybe a 3-5-2 with Aguero AND Jesus as some have suggested.
I think we already saw it yesterday. The fullbacks got forward far more than they ever did last year, and they'll be key to breaking down the defences. More width and pace out wide, allowing all 3 forwards to get in the box but also, when the wingers are wide, those late underlapping runs inside.
Those in particular cause havoc because a lower table hard working winger might track Mendy or Walker making a run out wide, but they're not going to follow them into the box between their fullback and Centreback. If we can get those going - and we used them loads with Zaba in pellegrini's 13/14 season - then we'll run riot.
