This was superb. It was the best home performance since we got to the Premier League. We are moving up the table but its so tight that you can be 14th one week and then bottom the next. There were some good performances today. Vennegoor of Hesselink and Altidore are a good partnership up front. Its no coincidence we are doing well since we moved away from one up front. Cairney did well in the middle and it's nice to have a player come through the ranks after so long.

Just another example of the fact that we are going to be up against it on our travels...we are a big scalp now.

We did not pay Hull enough respect - especially Mancini since he picked Boyata against 2 strapping forwards.
2 good goals and you cannot legislate for that the first one Boyata should have followed Altidore across.
But thats what happens with zonal bullshit

Boyatas young and inexperienced hes bound to make mistakes especially when hes with a new defensive partner.

The fact Hull were the better side is lost on most on here.

The arrogance at the moment is untrue.

Obviously, on paper we should beat Hull but paper means fuck all on the pitch and rarely a week goes by where there's not at least one result in the PL that you would have guessed on paper.

Despite this it's always 'someones' fault be it Robinho, Petrov, Ireland, Hughes or Mancini.

All teams get beat. The best teams get beat.

If you go into every game expecting a 6-0 win then chances are you'll be disappointed quite frequently. FM10 and real life are quite very different things.

Hull did play well, not making excuses but they played well and after holding Chelsea to a draw they narrowly beat us. I'm over it but then I wasn't predicting a win by 17 or so.

We did not play for an hour...at 2-0 down we woke up and they were hanging on a bit by the end.
We can play better...and from listening to Mancini posdt match it sounds like a mental thing...if we had gone at Hull like we did last 30 mins we may well have taken more from the game...Learn from this and move on...next away game should be interesting.

No one minds losing if we've put a shift in but at Hull, Everton and Old Trafford, we didn't.

Teams can only play well if they're allowed to. Too many teams are having good games against us recently.

Exactly PB. Too many have gone on about Hull's performance during the 90 mins. They did nothing extraordinary. Boateng's goal, which I have not seen, but which I heard, courtesy of Le Tissier wetting himself when SSN stated that another goal had been scored at the KCS, was a one off. When did he score another like that.

But the point I make is this: why did we not do the simple things that Hull players did. Basic footballing elements that are part and parcel of any game of football if, at the final whistle you expect to be still in the game. Do the players expect that these lower half teams are going to be in such awe of the array of internationals we have on the bench they will be shocked rigid, petrified, and we just stroll the ball in. The teams occupying the bottom quarter of the EPL will fight tooth and nail, strain every sinew to avoid defeat. We just aren't matching their commitment.

I often think that defensively, players need to be bedded-in carefully. There's been so many changes this season, it's unbelievable. I'm still not sure if Mancini's found his best pairings at the back.

Young Boyata looks good, but we're coming up to some VIP games and need all the points we can muster.

I think I'd only play him on certain occasions from now on...
