If spuds win Europa cup and qualify for champs league, but don't finish in top 4. Does that mean only the top 3 will qualify next season ?
And what if Arsenal win champs league, but don't finish in top 4. Does that mean we could have a situation where only the top 2 qualify ?

Silly question i no, but it could happen.

Plus i was bored, nothing happening at the moment.

At first I thought it was a bizarre question but it's a good point. I'm not sure if there is a quota for the amount of teams going in. The only time I remember 5 clubs going in for it is when Liverpool kicked up a stink and got to play a play off match for being previous winners

In both scenarios it depends on where the rag scum finish. If they're the team getting booted from the CL, we'll probably see the rules getting "amended." :)

No. UEFA just changed the rules (again) to (re)allow five teams from the same country to enter the CL if one of them won either the CL or EL the season before but did not qualify domestically. However, if both competitions are won by clubs from one association, AND neither of them finish in the top four of their domestic league, only then would fourth place lose out as UEFA won't allow one country to submit six teams for the CL in one season.

Like the above poster says, 5 teams are allowed in the CL from one country now.

I wasn't sure if 6 would be allowed if the CL and EL winners both finished outside the top 4, but it sounds like 4th place would lose out in that scenario.
