i don't understand why a few people seem pessimistic at the moment. maybe some players/the manager are not up to it, but honestly city fans have never had it so good. well not for donkeys years anyway. i for one am quite enjoying this transition period, it might last a few years, but so what? i'm enjoying the ride. and tbh i'd be a bit upset if we just bought 20 players this january and became a super team overnight. they wouldn't be the city i love if they did. so roll on the turmoil, do your worst.

Good post, and one I agree with

I think its more and I can only talk for myself, this team if you watch it week in week out is going backwards , there is no leadership from the top down, there is no plan and there is no vision of how to move forward being showed to those that watch.

its not pessimism, when we was took over by the arabs,i along with the majority of city fans thought we had finally after years of suffering turned a corner and things would start to come good, but for what ever reason depending on your view point we are now a laughing stock! so it is a bitter pill to swallow,be glad when the transfer window shuts because its stressing me out!

We are making progress on many fronts, of course, but not as a team yet or in the league or cups. Ultimately it is on the field sucess that counts, I would settle for signs the 'team' are unified as a start. MH give us cause to believe, Bridge was a good start this transfer window. Zabaleta and Kompany very good also, but now lets see team unity, like at Blackburn in adversity. I don't care who the manager is, only that we suceed.

Its a weird one, I think we've taken giant strides forward in terms of attacking prowess, when everything clicks and we are pushing forward (ie Hull) its breathtaking stuff. Much better than recent times, just need to work on consistency.

I do think we've gone backwards in the defence, especially the centre backs. Not sure what they need to get themselves sorted out (probably some competition), but I hope it happens soon. I think we are sorted for left & right backs now, but while our CB's are playing gash, we arent going to progress much at all.

pessimism
noun
'the tendency to emphasize or think of the bad part of a situation rather than the good part, or the feeling that bad things are more likely to happen than good things:'

Now do you understand pessimism.

Tell me the good things again; bottom end of premier league; no europe next year almost certain barring a miracle (please God); out of the FA and League Cup, beat by struggling Notts Forest & Brighton. Oh and RCITW, 5 - 10 years plan (I'll be dead before then), LOL.

same here, i've waited such a long time for city to be a force, hughes , jose or gus i dont care as long as we get somewhere.

i think the years of suffering are coming to an end, but it can't be an overnight thing or it has no value... oh and we're not a laughing stock "now", no more than we have been since the early eighties.
i'm not having a dig mate, just my point of view.
