The guy is swarve, todays result, don't get me wrong im fucking gutted, but i still love the guy. Hes done a great job for us, under a lot of pressure. CTID

Bridge apart he chose an unchanged side from the one that had ripped a new hole in Burnley and Brum. Cant blame him for that. In fact, no manager in the world would tinker with a side revved up from back-to-back routings.
And I cannot be hypocritical in hindsight because when I saw the line-up....no Vierra, no defensive three in the middle...I was chuffed.
However....Bobby wanted us to play cautiously today. Defensive and counter-attack. And you have to say that the team selection contradicted that intention.
So in effect he wanted his cake and eat it. And we paid the price.
Not knocking the guy and overall I'm very happy with him (I'm a Bobby convert after inital scepticism) but he has to take the lions share of the blame for today's defeat.

i can understand the vieira sub to a certain extent....we were having no luck on the flanks and were getting outmanned in midfield...so it made sense to switch a winger for a CM

Love the guy to bits and hope he's here for many years to come but he fucked up the subs today no two ways about it. De Jong should never have come off. In saying that there is fuck all the manager can do about players switching off in the last minute of the game.

Johnson was booked and having a nightmare. De Jong was injured and outnumbered in midfield. Ade was running out of ideas.
He brought on Vieira, Ireland and SWP - all designed to shore up midfield and create attacking opportunities, which they immediately did.

I think he needs the time to build his own team. we have to remember this is hughes team, and he's turned draws into wins, so he has my vote there. I will not judge him until he has had one full season and bought the players he wants. I dont think he can be blamed for ireland not looking like he did not give a shit and us just switching off again with 24 seconds left on the clock.
Afew things i hope he does and doesnt do are:
1) I hope he does NOT buy Torres. I think he is a very good player, but too injury prone and I do not want us to fund the dippers getting out of the shit.
2) I hope he does not buy italian. They just do not cut it in the EPL
3) I hope he works on our fittness and last minutes game plans. I remember ( i think it was keegan) when we used to score a fair few goals in the last minutes as we were fitter than most teams at that time.
4) I hope he continues to wear that scarf even in the summer.

It should have been a draw, but we were unlucky at the end (both sides made mistakes, they just happened to be the first to capitalize). Bobby did nothing that was clearly wrong, and he's obviously been doing a lot that's clearly right, so I wish everyone would lay off him and the team for a bit.
If we continue to play well (and make no mistake, we played well today), we have every chance of finishing 4th. But we could also play well in every game and finish 6th - that's what football's like. All you can do is improve your odds of winning each game, but when it comes down to it, some days you're gonna lose no matter how well you play, and some day's you're gonna win playing crap. You can't focus on individual throws of the dice, it's only when you look at a bunch of throws that you see if you've improved your odds of throwing a 6. I think our current league position says we have.
