I was in town shopping today with a friend and we looked up and saw a sign ''Knott Mill Station''. Now i have lived in Manchester all my life and i never knew Deansgate station was called Knott Mill?? Very interesting i thought, done a bit of research and its true!!

As they say, you learn something new everyday!!

Is this fact new to anybody else and by the way i am not a train spotter!!

I love the amount of history that is literally under your nose in Manchester as well as up above out of the normal eyeline.

Get yourself over to the old Midland Bank, Ship Canal and Bank of England Buildings for an absolute treat.

I remember taking a couple of die in the wool Mancunians on a walk around the City via the canal tow paths in the late 80's prior to he clean-up and they were staggered by what was down there.

Ahh the memories.
