Morecambe 4 Crewe 3.
Crewe were 2-0 up at half time, and possibly didn't deserve it. Morecambe pulled one back to make it 2-1 before Crewe scored again and made it 3-1. A breakaway goal saw Crewe go 3-1 up and it looked like curtains when a Morecambe defender was red carded for a professional foul just outside the area. From the resulting free kick, a harsh penalty was awarded when the ball hit a Morecambe defender's hand. Certainly not intentional...Morecambe goalkeeper saved the resulting penalty, and Morecambe's 10 men rallied. In the 87th minute Morecambe made it 3-2 to set up an anxious finish for Crewe. 4 Minutes of injury time were signalled and in the second minute of injury time Morecambe levelled matters, and literally at the death, Morecambe scored a 4th to complete a remarkable comeback. 3-1 down in the 87th minute, if anyone had done any in game betting on that, they'd have made a fortune...
Well done to big Blue and former player Mark Lillis, assistant manager at Morecambe (And Sammy McIlroy, the manager of course!)
