But where is the evidence they will do so?Making up 7 points over 10 games is definitely possible. It's all down to our players and manager to lift their performances.
The first 5 games obviously did happen, so we can't just discount them, but since then we have played 22 games, and picked up 32 points. That's roughly 1.5 point per game.
This isn't just a poor run, but it's a long poor run, that has been with us for the majority of the season.
What real evidence have we shown of arresting this slide. We have broken about every unwanted record this season set since our takeover. I just can't get my head around some of the optimism on here - it's fantastic, but it seems real head in the sand stuff. We have Kompany back now, so we can't use his absence as an excuse for conceding 3 last night.
And, don't forget, they played last Thursday too, so should be tired, and missed arguable their 2 best players last night.
They also started with Toure and Lovren at the back - the equivalent to us starting with Demi and Mangala.
Sunday was amazing, but we have been brought back down with a bang. It's too many performances last night that have made this season a pretty disappointing one.
