There's no logical conclusion to this season other than us missing out on top spot. The fact that we probably won't win it at a canter is a testament to how far we've fallen under Pellegrini. We've been awful for large parts of the season. We've been battered by Liverpool, Spurs, Stoke, Leicester.

Forgive me for not being optimistic but I'm hardly being controversial with those comments.

And it's not exactly mystifying as to me being upset about our performance this season.

A much simpler interpretation would be that it isn't necessarily the front runner at the beginning of the race, the middle of the race or even coming into the last lap that is going to be stood on the podium with a yellow coloured medal round his/her neck and tears running down his/her cheeks as his/her national flag is raised and the national anthem of his/her country is played.

We had Mancini and a better squad I thought we would win it then a. Because we were the best team and b. Played the best football. Our front four were frightening! We beat Utd to go past them. I was at st james park when we ended their hopes of top four. We were a good team then mate. You got to the ground and never really expected to lose. That's long gone. Look at our record against the better teams this year. It's woeful and we still have Utd Chelsea Arsenal and Stoke to play. Our record against the better teams this year does not bode well for those games. Then remember we played Leicester and Tottenham recently. We lost both games whereas in 2012 when we needed to beat Utd we did. You keep implying there's an issue with my support. There isn't. There is an issue with your grasp of our situation this year. I'm sorry but you hope we will win it there is no evidence to suggest we will.
