I think its safe to say that.....

For me the end of last season seemed to obliterate it. The chain of events that saw us beat the rags in the semis, seal 4th a week before Cup final over Spurs, win the Cup, then snatch 3rd from Arsenal. Before, all of those would have been messed up and we'd have been laughed at. ;)

+1

For me, it went this season when there were a few 'typical City' moments when we actually did what was required. The cup run generally where we avoided a number of banana skins, the semi, the Spurs game, the final, beating Stoke a few days later then finishing third.

Well, I doubt we'll have too many "I'll just be happy when we get to 40 points" posts this season....
There will be.

Maybe in jest, but there's always one.

Plus it's a good excuse for a piss up.

Followed by one when we're mathematically safe.

I Like this idea, and shall be adopting it for next season :)

Yes, it's a different feeling now. I can't really explain it well in words.
Just i guess you would have to call it self assurance. I trust Mancini implicitly, bar the bad eggs Mancini wants to get rid of already i trust the team also.
Cash ! they earn a lot yeah but so far they have shown nothing but grit and determination to succeed, and delivered so far.

I've said it before, I'll say it again.

'Typical City' will only be gone once people stop asking if it's gone.

It's a psychological barrier involving everybody, including our support. As long as that element of doubt remains in the heads of our fans then the players are capable of picking up on the tension.

Was about to say this, it's not just after you win or lose a game. It's during the match itself when you think "3 more goals and we've got this in the bag" after being 2-0 up. It obviously affects people who have seen City growing up, new fans I don't think will understand the statement unless they really plunge in to the City ethos.

I remember when we watched the semi final game, even though we completely dominated the rags and I was aware of that, I remember thinking after Scholes got sent off that it makes them more dangerous like a wounded animal...when in actual fact they just died on their ass. Typical City thinking.

I think it has gone within the club but there are still, probably a minority of fans that are pessimistic by nature and are constantly waiting for something to go wrong.

I, on the other hand am too optimistic. I used to tell people Samaras would come good ha ha.

We dumped the typical tag after the Tottenham defeat and they snatched 4th place.
We underperformed that night in the biggest match our club had been in for years.
You could see in the climax to last season how much our players wanted it and how determined they were not to fail

This says it all but this week in work I overheard a vermin season ticket holder who used to say we would never win anything (last year) saying City are definately in the top three this season.
