now its saved in my documents, its asking me to browse. So when i click that button it takes me to my documents which my cv is on. Do i just then double click on that?

if your writing it in word it will save as a .doc document. to convert it open your document and save it under another name but just below the file name there should be a drop down box saying file type or save as type and you can save it into a different format there.
