I was wrong, I was right & yet to be proved.

I was wrong (totally) about rodri. I just thought he was too ponderous for the english prem

I was right about grealish. I backed him from the word go.

Phillips, palmer, gomez, are no where near our level

Knew it would be downhill for Sterling after City, his output was a lot more to do with the way we play than anything else.

Wrong about the mobile tickets, it actually works pretty well generally speaking.

Still to be proven whether Phillips has got it in his locker to become a reliable member of the squad. I really hope I’m wrong but the signs aren’t great. A lot of players have turned it round after average first seasons but I haven’t seen glimpses of anything to suggest he’s at the right level.

I was wrong about Grealish. Although i feel he was poor during his first year, i did not expect him to come on to his game like this. Fair fucking play to him.
The thing with Grealish was he never hid at the end of a poor game, he’d acknowledge the crowd and his persona was (and is) just right for the squad. I always thought that if he could improve enough to play regularly he’d be important in relieving some of the stress and pressure in the team as he just looks like one of those people who is happy all the time. Good for morale. Fortunately he’s excelled my expectations as well.

I was in the same boat as you regarding Rodri. At times he did get caught on the ball by pressing players but this seems to have gone from his game. Whether that is down to the lack of a press or Rodri's adaptation I am not sure. He also had to step into Fern's rather big boots who for me was the best for us in his position. However we seem to be able to replace the irreplaceable which is a credit to all concerned.

I was right about Txiki Begiristain. When we secured him as our DoF back in October 2012, I was busy telling anyone who would listen (and plenty who wouldn’t) that his appointment would bring about even greater success than we’d just experienced the previous season. And that he’d definitely deliver Pep to us as Manager at some point - which would be the moment we shifted gears, and genuinely took on the elite of European football!

I was very wrong that John Stones was finished as a serious player somewhere during the 19/20 season, and had proved he simply couldn’t be trusted as part of a genuinely elite football team like ours under Pep.

I reckon Bernardo could yet be convinced to sign an extension at City, giving us another couple of years before riding off into the Spanish/Portuguese sunset!

I was wrong when I though Paul Moulden was going to score lots of goals for us & go on to play for England,
I was wrong when I thought Ian Bowyer was rubbish & would never make it as a footballer,
I was right when I said we should sign a promising young striker called Sergio Aguero :-)

I was right when we were at rock bottom I'd say to anybody trying to take the piss that "we will have our day".....(although I'm not sure I totally believed it)

I was wrong about Stones. Thought it was time to sell him in 2020 after his horrendous form but I never thought he could turn it around like he did.

I was right about Sterling. I knew his time with us was soon to be over 18 months before he left and I knew he would struggle at Chelsea. Like a fish out of water.

I'm yet to be proved whether Phillips will become the dependable backup option we want him to be or continue his bad form. He needs to start next season well.
