Ian Curtis-32 years On

because I thought he was rubbish so was interested to find out what people saw in him.

Now put your bottom lip back in good lad.

Same, had no voice to be honest. But he has a cult like following so there must be something about him. I watched that BBC documentary on him came across as a home wrecking bellend who was severely depressed. Music wise I think the other members of the band were more talented which was proven when he died and New Order was formed.

Guess he was well before my times and must have been something quite different back in the day.

He had mental illness and suffered from an aggressive form of epilepsy that caused him violent fits, for which he had to consume very strong medication, which further contributed to his mental illness.

Sure, having an affair isn’t moral behaviour, especially with a young child on the way/around, but to condemn someone with so much going on, for only an affair, is unfair.

You only have to listen to his lyrics to know how deeply troubled and exceptionally talented he was at the same time, his songs give both off.

Depends what you class as “music wise” considering he didn’t really play an instrument, New Order certainly never even came close to writing a lyric like Ian wrote, not even close.

I understand a man projecting his severe depression into lyrics for a song isn’t going to be to everyone’s tastes but just listen to the lyrics closely, it’s poetic.
