Someone with his single mindedness would be perfect. He won't be told who to pick and doesn't give as shit what the press say or go by reputation.
That could also apply to Capello although I would argue that Mourinho cares a lot about what the press say.
In my opinion the problem lies with the FA, the media and maybe the monarchy as well.
