If the owner confirms Mancini...

I would be seriously dissapointed with the owners. We should be getting fourth with this squad regardless.

If mourinho was in charge of us we would be top of the league no danger. He's going sooner or later and won't be here next year. And whoever says he's got us to wembley no he hasn't we should be playing at a neutral ground plus bolton and stoke are also there ffs not that big of an achievmant.

It's only a big achievement only if we actually manage to win the trophy ... then it becomes part of your history , and part of the managers achievements .......

few people remember clubs that lose finals , never mind semi-finals!

Unless i'm mistaken Alex Fergusons first trophy at United came four years after he took over them , and it was the FA Cup ......... all managers have to start somewhere!

No, what's a bit silly is saying that Silva and Tevez 'pressing' is the same as the way Barca press. It's incomparable. So you'd like to see us press more in packs...why don't you think we do it?
We don't do it because he wants us to keep shape, because we're usually very solid defensively. When Barca lose it they'd better get it back quick, because Alves and Maxwell will be on the edge of the opposition's box and Puyol and Pique will be holding their line at the halfway line.
That's why Mancini doesn't do it - I'd do it though, because I think their pressing is amazing.

Hmm, okay, so if the rags are great at counter attacking football, and we're not very good at it, then maybe that explains why we struggle to beat 'bigger' teams when we play with a more defensive mentality. Maybe we should play to our strengths then rather than worrying about the oppositions strengths...just a though.

Seriously? You want to know why it's not a good idea to commit men forward against a very good counter-attacking rag side?

LOL. Sorry mate, but I can't take that seriously. It's a stereotype which has no basis in reality and which I'm sure is born out of jealousy at the fact that Spurs beat us to 4th last season. Suggesting that a team with Modric, VDV, Sando, Huddlestone, Gallas, Dawson, et al simply hoof the ball or play it wide is a blatant lie.

Stop right there, Billy boy! I told you why I didn't like the style - I used examples from two recent games. That's my 'basis in fact', 'lol'. Now you tell me why you like watching them? Apart from Michael 'Young Beckenbaur' Dawson?

Really, he needs to drop Yaya and play Silva in the middle. Some of us said it back in September, and have been saying it consistently since then.

One paced shite is exactly what we play. If you were to cast a critical eye over our fixtures you would soon realize we have struggled to play with tempo for more than 45 minutes in any game with the only real exceptions being Liverpool and Fulham

Think I've gotten mixed up, sincerely. Do you mean that you just want the forward players to pass and move more quickly? I need more than 'one-paced shite' versus 'tempo'.

Re: if the Owner confirm mancini....

The question of what should happen if he finishes fifth shouldn't need answering, the answer is simple he should go. The question for me is if we finish fourth should that be enough for him to stay, as it looks like we will finish 4th with similar if not less points than last year, which would mean success without improvement, after 100 mill spent that would be poor. So for me if we don't win the cup and finish 4th with at least 70 points then I'd let him go.

Using Spurs' second leg tie against Milan is so massively disingenuous it's not even funny. If you want to talk about the game against West Ham, they broke a premiership record for shots on target without scoring...You don't have to like the way they play, but you show your own ignorance when you try and label it as 'long ball'...

By the way, you should watch our Chelsea game again and see how many times we punted the ball long to Milner/Dzeko....might teach you a little more humility.

For the rest, I'm not that arsed - if you really believe that they only way to beat the rags is by shutting up shop and hoping to nick a goal that's your business. If you think are one dimensional one paced style of play is interesting to watch, that is too your business. May I suggest though that you try just a touch harder to not let your innate bias cloud your judgment to the point where you're making wildly contradictory statements like "we're not very good on the break and the rags are" as a defense for us shutting up shop and trying to play on the counter attack at home against them...

you can start by not going to wembley and giving another blue who wants to support the team and manager a better chance of going, this forum is ruined by clowns like you.

if you must know i'm not going to wembley, i'm refuse point blank to go to another city game whilst we play that type of football.i was talking to a united fan this morning and he said he'd go if he had a ticket, no problem you can have mine, at least they are being used and i'll get my points up for when we do get a good manager.

Best clarkie bait in a long long time ;-) pmsl

and his fuck up in the away leg of the Europa League in Kiev by leaving Tevez on the bench is unforgetable. IF we win the FA Cup then great but this squad should have more than enough to play in the champions league.

I am not sure Tevez could have stopped Richards and Hart from not making them mistakes.

Im not saying he would of either. It is just what he offers going forward and his all round workrate that was missing at times in the first leg. When he came on we were a better team.

It's occasionally long-ball, but it's always quickly to the wings. Do you like them because it's so open? Defoe missed a couple, but so did Cole at the other end. Again, we're going round in circles - you like that sort of thing, I don't. Sure let's just leave it at that!

Lastly: if 14 shots is a new record, I'd be astounded.

No, that sounds really sore.

Look dude, I'll leave you to your traditional ideals. I just like to see the ball being passed around.

I too love seeing the ball passed around.

But when "passing it around" consists of Hart throwing it to Kompany, who passes it Richards, who gives it him back, and then passes it on to Lescott, who passes it back to Kompany, who passes it forward (finally!) to de Jong, who immediately paasses it back to either Richards, Lescott or Kompany... who proceed to return it to Hart... who then launches it 60 yards straight on to the head of the oposition centre half.

We then fight for the loose ball.

Entertaining? Hmmm...

I'm all for a passing game when the passing moves the ball around, and there is a purpose to it.

Even Sven in the first six months transformed our passing game and it was delightful to watch. And that from someone who wasn't too unhappy when he was eventually replaced.

Why are we a laughing stock?

The only derision that is earned should be directed at those who had ludicrous thoughts that the title was ours for the taking.

If we have a positive end to this season the Top 3 will be looking to their laurels next season especially the southern teams.

We WILL be a laughing stock if we change horses again (Mourinho excepted) after a CL qualification and/or a FA Cup win.

If we fail to achieve those then a reasoned long term decision needs to be made for the benefit of all.

the general feeling of football fans is that mancini is bad for the english game. even utd fans are laughing at our style of play. under highes we got slated, but we got some praise for trying to play the game in the right way.

we are THE laughing stock of probably world football at the moment, the DULLEST team in the world.

changing managers cannot make us anymore of a laughing stock than we are now.

Still more exciting than Stoke, watching Delap towel off the ball for 24 minutes a game, and Robert Huth and Co. jostling for position before a 2 minute dead ball ;)

-- Tue Mar 22, 2011 2:12 pm --

Good, they're probably the moaning f*ckers. If they cared to look I bet this is one of our most productive seasons away from home in many a year.

We need more fans like the Blue Alliance who back the team.

Thats 8 games away for me without a win
birmingham
iris
arsenal
chelsea
scum
juventus
notts county
liecester
15 is my all time record of consecutive away games without a win 13 loses 2 draws.

This could be another thread as I had a text the other day saying ----

Ok lads in 1987 city beat bradford away 4-2 it was their first away win after 34 unsuccessful road trips beats my 15 without a win

Dunno how true the above is but I petty anyone who did all those aways !

It's born out of frustration mate.

Call me naive, and I know it must have cost a fortune, but those are some pretty impressive (or at least interesting) away fixtures to have attended. Those of us who are now over a 4 hour flight away from a home match (and have never been to the likes of Aris and Juve) aren't going to shed any tears ;)

I think you confuse me with some fucking idiot Bill... I've been supporting City as long as you have (nearly)... Laughing stock we are certainly fucking not Bill..... Disappointing at the moment maybe.. but laughing stock? In the past certainly, but not now...get a grip!

ok lets say then that the rag media are rubbing their hands at our failure to overtake them when they are the worst rag side for 20 years.lets also say that all the other clubs who are so very jealous of our money singing you're gonna win fuck all may just be right.
we should not be in this position.
i dont think you're an idiot and it matters not how long you have been following city, all the matters is we are playing gash and it needs addressing and the sooner the better.

whatever it takes.

if i'm honest i'm shit scared the owners will do one, they have to make money and our football is emptying the stadium not filling it.no bums on seats, no hot dogs, not programme sales and most of all the tv wont show boring fucking teams on the telly.
we need a fucking overall and fast.

if i'm being an idiot then feel free to tell me so.

Don't think you're an idiot Bill... No it doesn't matter a jot how long I've been supporting city... but it does tell you I know when we've been a laughing stock... and we are not now. There are 16 other clubs in the premier league who would take what we've got now.

Of course the media can't wait for us to fail..... BUT WE can wait for success a little longer.. certainly you and I (along with a few others on here) can after all the dross over the years. Stop over reacting and get on board.... It's a great ride! Not long to go now.

we've got to stop falling for all this media bollocks...

-- Tue Mar 22, 2011 8:50 pm --
