"Finally a manager given time!!!!!" And.... "hopefully he will aim to win every game next season"....and......"hopefully he sign another left back and a few other quality players to make us competive"...and "bring some real pace to our team".

This
Needs a full pre season, no world cup in the way to work with the group of players + new faces and get them fit and gelled. lets not remember both full backs missed the start of the season (well Kolorov got crocked in 1st game).

Bring in better coaches to help him, fitness coaches, set piece coaches etc and get a proper pre season set up sorted.

Now, if he doesnt deliver next year then there are zero excuses but needs this summer and next season to be given a fair chance

regarding your last statement, if Jose is available at the end of this season do you pass up the opportunity ? Knowing that hes not gonna be available next season.

Re: if the Owner confirm mancini....

Just firing yet another manager will not help. Bringing in a new guy will just mean he gets rid of half the team again then he won't be given time for the team to gell.

I remember a time when the managers' office at Maine Road might have as well have had a revolving door, under a guy called Swales. Remember him? Hopefully the Sheikh has more nous than him.

If a manager cannot gain the respect of the majority of the squad especially the starting eleven and make them want to bleed for the club and the management at all costs and be part of something special because

a they have the talent and ability

b they want to make history for the best club on the planet.

then the manager must go for the sake of the club.

Certain players will give 110 per cent no matter the relationship with the manager during training and on match days and be a role model for the club off the field as well but these players are now becoming few and far between as money becomes the motivating force behind the business of football and its influence spreads wider and quicker amongst more and more stakeholders in quicker time than ever before.

Re: if the Owner confirm mancini....

I'm not sure what the point of Mancio's thread was, but it's at least had the effect of concentrating a great deal of the forum's nonsense in a single thread.

I love possession-based football - you knock it from side to side, and try and draw the opposition out. You bide your time and keep possession, and hope to score when the opportunity presents itself. It's not 'turgid', and nor is it 'awful' - it's a damn sight more fucking sophisticated than the long-ball/counter-based approach that a lot seem to be clamouring for.

We haven't perfected it yet, but I'd rather we kept going until we did, as opposed to now opting for shit percentage tactics.

The second point - you're laughing at poor Mancio, like he's deluded for believing Mancini will be here next season. You're all actually convinced that Mou's on his way! There's no basis at all for this, though - have I missed some quotes or something? Anything at all that might suggest that Jose's coming here? Seriously, anything?

Fuck lads, we lost at (current PL champions) Chelsea. Get a grip.

-- Tue Mar 22, 2011 12:18 pm --

I would think, we will need to go out and buy another new team.

Because it won't be just Tevez we can all cry about leaving.

Again, got a quote for me?

Indeed.

I've greatly enjoyed a lot of the football we've played this season. When it works well, it is as good as anything to watch.

It's not there yet, and there have been frustrating matches.

At times we look threatening and at times we look pedestrian and appear to making no inroads whatsoever into creating clear chances ala Chelsea on Sunday.

We are yet to learn the smart way to achieve the best outcome against any opposition on any given day.

Whether Mancini is given more time to develop this mentality in the team will largely depend on how we do in the next 8 games and how Spurs fare as well.

It shouldn't come down to this but unfortunately its a results business and Chumps league is the minimum required for Mancini this season and perhaps given the money spent and the ability both individually and collectively he has at his disposal since he took over perhaps that is a more than fair target to achieve in your second season in charge no matter the injuries and the pre season difficulties in getting a good pre season for the vast majority of the squad which if it is not tends to impact on your performances towards the latter half of the season.

Must be a glitch on my computer, most of the recent posts on this thread have been well thought out and a credit to this forum.
