If the owner confirms Mancini...

my point is : its laughable how many people here seem to believe they have some power of influence simply digiting on a keyboard.

and how much disrespect they show to the only One who really have the Power.

all the shit that some people are writing now you have to think should be X1000 if the Owner will confirm mancini and you are lead to believe is not so far from the day when some smart guy will go out here writing "the owner is a clown"

Re: if the Owner confirm mancini....

I was shocked he was retained at the end of last season, this season merely conforms my initial misgivings. He is inept in so many ways it's untrue [don't care what he did ina sterile Italian League - it's irrelevant].
IF he is retained for next season ill still go but as I feel now, my anticipation for match days will be with absolute ambivalence and without the thrill I used to have.
Owners are notorious for messing up when choosing managers, especially foreign ones - the games been littered with bad appointments over the last 15 years that bewildered everyone - so I just pray after the last game he is told he simply wasn't up to the job, thanks for bringing Silva but now go and take Yaya, Kollarov and Balotteli with you [although i'm still in 2 minds about Balo - yes he messed up big time but I would love him to sort his head out and stay and become a legend.....a big ask though]

Why are we a laughing stock?

The only derision that is earned should be directed at those who had ludicrous thoughts that the title was ours for the taking.

If we have a positive end to this season the Top 3 will be looking to their laurels next season especially the southern teams.

We WILL be a laughing stock if we change horses again (Mourinho excepted) after a CL qualification and/or a FA Cup win.

If we fail to achieve those then a reasoned long term decision needs to be made for the benefit of all.

the general feeling of football fans is that mancini is bad for the english game. even utd fans are laughing at our style of play. under highes we got slated, but we got some praise for trying to play the game in the right way.

we are THE laughing stock of probably world football at the moment, the DULLEST team in the world.

changing managers cannot make us anymore of a laughing stock than we are now.
Don't give a stuff what Rags think of us. They're hardly going to be objective, are they?
Nevertheless they weren't laughing for the greater part of the Swamp Derby where we were the superior team for large chunks of the game.

And changing managers WILL make us a source of ridicule unless media legend Mourinho is the man.
The press want him back soooo much that they would even go easy on us for getting him.

Re: if the Owner confirm mancini....

I would think that our owner is confident that Mancini can will us the Premier League next season, and would be prepared to back him up with some dosh in summer. I would also think that the infighting and lack of harmony reported in the media is a lock of rubbish after all.

I almost always agree with you 100% and I do on this, Kev.

Mancio - you speak so much nonesense it's frightening, I always presume you are on a windup...your English fluctuates from exceptional to appalling in the same sentence which makes you sound dubious...
BUT your point about the owners, I doubt anyone will say they are clowns but if you look back at appointments made by foreign owners [especially] who come into football suddenly, they make some baffling appointments which are basically wrong. Our owners are amazing - we all appreciate what they are doing - BUT doesn't mean they are best to make such an important [eeez impor - - tant] decision as to who the manager should be. Football people should make this decision. That's not a slight on our owners either just cold hard fact.

-- Tue Mar 22, 2011 11:49 am --

Just sad DD that some people still cling to the idea he is right for us...there was an article I was reading last night in the Independent about our stats this season and it makes awful reading and shows mancini's flaws big time. Someone may have pasted it though i've not seen it here [It's on NewsNow]...it's not anti City just a well written and sober look at what he's doing wrong - and ch**st there was so much ammunition against him it was laughable...but some of us saw this coming a long time a go....

Re: if the Owner confirm mancini....

If Mancini goes, we must go for Mourinho and only Mourinho. Hughes was a stopgap, Mancini added some glamour, Jose is the winner.

Mancini willnot win us the prem next season FFS! After spending so much for this season he has taken us er....backwards..[cue the we are 4th comments]..wasn't Dzeko the diff between 4th and champions [mancini said it on TV - no misquote]...well done mancini!..The fact is, we are NOT progressing, the football is dire, we are losing games, scraping past very poor sides and clinging on to get 1-0 wins, being completely outplayed by the top 4 sides [spurs, arsenal, chelsea but yes we were better at the swamp]...we don't play like a side with top 4 ambitions...far from it, we look timid, scared and grateful if we cling on for a point like a thoroughbred underdog...exactly the thing Mancini is trying to erradicate yet is cementing even deper into the fans and clubs psyche with his inept tactics and style of pley.

-- Tue Mar 22, 2011 11:56 am --

I'm not sure what the point of Mancio's thread was, but it's at least had the effect of concentrating a great deal of the forum's nonsense in a single thread.

I love possession-based football - you knock it from side to side, and try and draw the opposition out. You bide your time and keep possession, and hope to score when the opportunity presents itself. It's not 'turgid', and nor is it 'awful' - it's a damn sight more fucking sophisticated than the long-ball/counter-based approach that a lot seem to be clamouring for.

Do you know, it's funny, I've not read a single person clamouring for a "long-ball/counter-based approach"....oh, hang on, you're going to tell me that Spurs, the rags, and Chelsea play a "long-ball/counter-based approach"...PMSL.

We haven't perfected it yet, but I'd rather we kept going until we did, as opposed to now opting for shit percentage tactics.

Again, you don't see the stupidity of what you've posted above??? Are there only two ways to play football - Mancini's way or "shit percentage tactics"???

The second point - you're laughing at poor Mancio, like he's deluded for believing Mancini will be here next season. You're all actually convinced that Mou's on his way! There's no basis at all for this, though - have I missed some quotes or something? Anything at all that might suggest that Jose's coming here? Seriously, anything?

Fuck lads, we lost at (current PL champions) Chelsea. Get a grip.

There's a big big difference between people preferring Mou to Mancini, and people saying Mou is definitely coming.

Because it won't be just Tevez we can all cry about leaving.

Silva? Kompany? De Jong?
