IF we win the title against the Rags...

Plan is to come up on Friday stop round me mates in Manc ready for game on Saturday then go out on the town Saturday night after the game for celebrations. Manchester Picadilly will be full of them as they queue for the train back down to London.

rhetorical question

Would you take losing against the rags and Spurs if it meant we were guaranteed getting past the dippers?
Sorry mate, but with the greatest respect I hate these kind of questions. It is one thing to ask about order of importance, but another to say you can only win one thing or another (rhetorically or not rhetorically). I remember Mancini being confused by such a question when we were on course for top 4 and the fa cup. The fact of the matter we want both, we are trying for both and we deserve both.

Of course I want both too. Just a bit of fun. don't know what to say... I know sorry isn't good enough

It's really hard to compare wins. I just watched Penn State's wrestling team win the national title in their last match of the finals tournament and they did it when one of their top guys pinned his opponent after a wild scramble. Last year one of their guys pulled off a major upset in the finals by pinning a wrestler whom everybody thought was unbeatable. Each time we celebrated like we were crazy. But today we talked about which one was better and none of us could pick just one, they were both amazing in their own right.

When the prospect of us clinching the title against them first emerged I was like a kid at Christmas, wouldn’t have countenanced the possibility of giving anything else priority.

Had we drawn anybody but the scousers in the CL i would probably still feel the same but I hate them as much as the rags these days. Lose to the rags and we’ll feel bad for a day but that’ll be quickly replaced by happiness at winning the league and the media will make little of it.

Lose to the scousers however and we won’t ever hear the end of it, every time we go to Anfield for fukkin years it’ll be brought up, the media will glory in their triumph for weeks and weeks and it will (wrongly) overshadow our domestic dominance in the eyes of the usual clown pundits and journos.
Plus it’d be alright to reach the CL semi final again for the 2nd time in 3 years !

I've changed my mind about this. The two games vs the candle fanciers are far more important. I might have thought different if we were only 9 points clear as opposed to 16. Hopefully, we can win 'em all though.

This would only happen if they went on to win it. Even if they beat us I think that is extremely unlikely

There would be a media love fest lasting ages regardless of how they fared in the rest of the tourn. Look how much mileage they’ve got out of an irrelevant league win against us ffs.

Only a big fuss cos it’s our only loss. But I did hear a dipper on the radio say our 2 late goals made it a false score as they battered us. What planet do they live on !?!?

Anyone who thinks (A) needs to give their head a wobble !
(A) because they are scummy and beyond reprehension.Beating them to win the league would be a blob of icing on the proverbial cake.
As the psychedelic chap said B is just a money spinner with uefa being rotten to the core.
Wobble.

You are entitled to your opinion, especially as the question was which is more important to YOU.

However, my choice of B is based on what is more important to City & their brand is most important to me. So CL success against Liverpool is the choice, over winning the league against the scum, especially as winning the league will happen 1,2 or 3 games later if not against the rags.

Ultimately I’ll settle for 4 consecutive wins to keep everyone happy.

We are already one of the top teams in England, and the ambition is for us to become one of the top teams in Europe. That’s why I think it’s important to get into the semis of CL, particularly as the league is already in the bag IMO.I don’t expect us to win it, but getting into the top 4 would be a big plus for the season.

Given a free hand I guess that Pep would want to field the best possible team for the Liverpool games, and to do that he might want to rest one or two for the rags game. Could be contentious.

Some have mentioned a dislike of the Euro competition and I wonder if this should be looked at, to help get them onside. First step maybe to change rules for season card holders so their choice of three cup games extends to Euro competitions also.

What is this three games stuff?

Spurs yes - Utd No. I would never want to lose against Utd - No matter the game or circumstances.
I 8 Spurs but I could live with that.
