And where's the punishment/deterrent to those players who regularly pick up yellow cards then? A player could pick up 20 yellow cards in a season, and not receive any punishment for it, yeah?

Players get booked for nowt these days and it ruins the latter stages of tournaments when you have players everyone wants to see missing. Being on a warning and having to check your behaviour within the match you've been booked in is enough punishment for me.
