If you could watch a film for the first time again…

Not sure but these movies had a huge impact the first time I saw them:

Jaws
Star Wars
Halloween / Assault on Precinct 13 (double bill)
Raiders of the Lost Ark (in Grauman's Chinese Theatre)
E.T.

I do wish I'd seen the first two Godfather moves at the cinema but first time was actually the special chronological TV version that ran over two nights.

Probably Jaws as it is the earliest on the list.

The good old double bill. Those were the days.
My first viewing of The Outlaw Josey Wales had Magnum Force as the pre movie.
A Clint Eastwood double bill

Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

I would have been 14 years old and I still remember leaving the cinema to this day, utterly awestruck by the geniius of Spielberg.

I think the first film could be "The Day The Earth Stood Still".
A spaceship landed and a gigantic robot emerged and stood guard in front of it.
The beings inside were peaceful, and came to warn us not to continue with our aggressive behaviour, or similar robots from other worlds would come to destroy us.
As an example of what they could do, electrical machines were temporarily stopped from working.
A powerful and awesome film for me as a child.
Klaatu barrada necto....
A true classic. The robot was named Gort.

Remade a few years ago, starred Keanue Reeves. Sadly not a patch on the B&W original.

I love old Sci-Fi and I consider the best of the lot to be This Island Earth.

The Warriors, first film I ever watched on VHS, had a few mates from school round to watch it, my Mum and Dad couldn’t see what all the fuss was about. My Mum went to the Chippy for all of us, great night!
Same for me. I went to see this on a Friday night and missed the first 10/15 minutes. Still really enjoyed it though. I then went for a second viewing on the Monday night, i needed to see the beginning, still enjoyed the second viewing but i knew why they were being chased.
