The Klan is back.

The Klan's website is down because of "high traffic," not a good sign. This was on their site:

They are back. Best to be prepared for bad things from them and other racists in the future. There is a bright future, but these nuckleheads don't help.

I'd love to know how people like this minds tick.

i believe that several psychological studies have shown that the hostility/disgust that people feel towards those apparently of a difference race is a trait that is hardwired to a greater or lesser extent in all of us, so i guess it's pretty easy to build up an entire belief system around it, i guess you would feel that you were being true to something within yourself.

p.s. i bet 98% of the traffic is perfectly nice people going OMG LOOK AT THIS OH NOEZ to their perfectly nice friends

The Klan were only really a serious, organised force for about 5 years in the 1920s, when they had hundreds of thousands of paid-up members and a newspaper with quite a wide circulation (sample story: 'Jesus and Other Klansmen'). Ever since then people just laugh at them for the pathetic wankers that they are - not that they still can't be dangerous on occasion, but as an organised threat? Only in their own wet dreams.

I stumbled upon the 'Knights of the KKK' website a number of years ago. I remember this site calimed that they distanced themselves from the 'old' Klu Klux Klan, that they we're basically more civilised, didnt believe in killing people, just stood for Christian ideals, patriotism, etc. So i emailed the guy, letting on i was a black american doctor with a white wife and mixed race kid. For refence I'm white, English, unmarried and without children. I was at college at the time.

He told me i was not capable of doing anything good, ever, my wife was destined for hell, and my half white child was not genuinely human. He sent me a long poem (!) he'd got from somewhere, explaining all of these things.

I think you reach a tricky subject. We ARE all hardwired, that's the truth. We ALL, at SOME point will think awkwardly of another Race, no matter how fleeting. It's getting past those weaker moments that makes us ascend to the civilised Human Being.

For those of us that are of weaker minds, they will succumb to the paranoia of the tribal version of protectionism. They will feed this misinformation to the young and they inherit their parents phobias. Thankfully, it doesn't always bear fruit that offspring continue to hate and that's a great thing.

That's why I'm non too fussed about the Klan or BNP sh*t... Until they cross my path.
