Yep, I'm crying.Floored by this. Not only the loveliest person you could ever hope to meet - and if you didnt know Andy please take my word that he was one of those very rare folk who got a million times more happiness through the happiness of others than himself - but also a brave soul too.
When he first got ill I suggested he posted on here pointing out that many posters have been through similar and it might be a help. He said he didnt want it to look like he was 'showing off' which is perhaps the most northern thing Ive ever heard anyone say.
Last week when he called to say it was terminal he told me proudly that he'd only cried the once and then only very briefly.
He fought it with courage, self-deprication and by surrounding himself with those he loved.
Last word before I have a little cry (because I'm not the man Andy forever will be)
Andy was so nice that he initially 'threw' people he met. They would be caught off-balance because we're not used to encountering people who are just completely open and lovely and thinking entirely of others ahead of themselves.
I am proud to have known him.
