Is it just me or has last night’s result been somewhat ignored? Had talksport on briefly this morning and it was all about Chelsea turning Tottenham over (the same way we did) whilst not much of a mention about us. Was just on the BBC page where it’s all Chelsea and newspaper headlines about them. Whilst in my opinion Chelsea will probably win it I can’t help but think our win last night has just been brushed aside.

If you take into account this is a place we haven’t won at in years, we went behind and emphatically won 4-1. Without Kompany or Silva and only days after the best team in the league went there, created nothing and drew 0-0. The same team the media are creaming themselves over this morning.

I am not part of the agenda crew I just find it bizarre, are we going under the radar like last year with Liverpool? I hope so as that probably worked in our favour.

I think the likeliest explanation is your big London based hacks (Holt, Winter etc) were never going to go to a Tuesday night game in the NE so all the media and coverage focused on the chavs. Fine by me. Let's just go about our business and keep the wins ticking over.

I haven't listened to TalkShite for ages but dialled in this morning

Brazil paid lip service to the game and Kun got a mention

Its a Jose and Chelsea love in. don't lose any sleep over it

If Chelsea carry on like this then we may not get a look in.................. let's hope they don't

*Sigh*

Another City fan with self image issues.

This looks pretty balanced to me:

Not sure too many North West based journo's were keen on making the trip to Sunderland either. Neil Custis was trying to locate a pub in Didsbury that was showing the match.

I finished work late last night and the only thing Talksport were talking about was is this the best Chelsea team in history and is it the worst Spurs team in history. I don't care about Spurs and I'm not being funny but Chelsea have it really easy this year with the Premier League being so poor. If we hit form then realistically only United and Southampton have any real chance of catching both of us.

The bubble has clearly burst at Southampton now so really beyond West Ham sustaining a top 4 challenge, who else is going to really pack a threat to say Chelsea, us and the scum who are now getting it sorted. Arsenal won't because Arsenal are always the same, they don't have enough going for them up front and in defence to sustain a real challenge to say the top 3.

Saying this is the best Chelsea team in history is ridiculous too because they have not won a thing yet and all they did in the summer was sign a couple of excellent players, the rest of the team is the same as last year and what did they win last year? F all.

Chelsea are decent to be fair, there are a couple of players who would get in our side (one who would be here if we'd not been fucked over by Marwood)

I despise Maureen with a passion mind and hope they win fuck all

I had to "tut" and sigh heavily this morning at the woman who does the sport report on BBC breakfast telly

Whilst Chelsea "thrashed" Spurs 3-0 we "cruised" to a 4-1 win at Sunderland

I've no issue with the description of our win, but a "thrashing" is minimum 4-0, especially when you're playing at home vs a team that hasn't beaten you there for twenty odd years

Why should we get a mention anyway, we've done fuck all for ages, Liverpool were champions last year and Chelsea this season so why should they mention us.
As much as it winds me up I will listen to The wanker called Adrian Durham this afternoon and I can tell you now, he will fucking wind me up about Liverpool being the most attractive and entertaining team last year and City being given the title through other teams mistakes.
Can you imagine if we get through the Champions League group next week and go all the way to the final, would they say we only did it because Roma and CSKA slipped up.

Good job they didn't head up on Tuesday; they really would have had fuck all to write about!

;-)

He said the other day that Liverpool were by far the most entertaining team having scored the most goals. I guess he is not a mathematician either seeing as we scored a goal more and conceded 13 less. He is probably right on the entertainment though, watching their players and fans after the 3-3 at Palace was entertaining anyway!

We're not being ignored but we've only just hit form and rightly City have been criticised for being below par. We've not been at the top for that long in the grand scheme of things and so comparisons can still be made to recent seasons. Typically the comparisons so far have been to our poor defence of the title in 2012/13. Similarly we've qualified for the CL knockouts once and this season have been poor again so it's been all doom and gloom there.

The media have recently started to heap praise on the side, in particularly and rightly on Aguero and now you can see mention to our start last season and the run we went on over this period. I saw prior to the Sunderland game a mention on BBC Sport from Lawro that we were better off in terms of points at this stage last season than we were last time out.

The difference is Chelsea have been exceptional and there is no denying that. We are only 6 points behind them but they're not dropping many points and as good as we now are, rightly they're still taking the headlines. If we were 6points ahead and beat Spurs 3-0 at home, regardless of what Chelsea did I would expect us to be getting the main plaudits. They're undefeated and are showing no signs of relenting in the league. A draw at Sunderland isn't too bad, they didn't lose and it was fresh off a huge away win in the CL that qualified them for the knockouts. Next week whilst we go to Rome and have to get a result, they have a game at home that will only affect where they want to finish in the group. They are likely to win the group either way but there isn't as much at stake.

I think with City we have always shown we are better when we are chasing and there is something riding on the game. I'm hoping that Chelsea have a wobble and sometimes all it takes is one poor performance for questions to be asked. We might win the league this season, or we might not - next season considering there's no world cup etc I want us to be playing as we are now from game 1 so we aren't playing catch up. We've still not seen City get to the front and and lay down markers to our title rivals from the start of the season. We shouldn't have to always play catch up.

Grow up, There's so many immature kids in this thread, Ignored????? Every newspaper I pick up and every newspaper website I go to is giving Aguero praise and in the main section of the website, The reason talksport ignore us a little is because they get their majority of callers from London, Birmingham and Liverpool, London covers the London clubs and United/Liverpool, Birmingham covers WBA/Aston Villa and Liverpool covers the two there, City fans don't call up, Mainly because we are rarely in crisis and rarely need our voices heard, Talksport are merely trying to get more calls.

If anything I would argue we're getting more credit for our performances this year than last, Stop being so paranoid for feck sake, Who cares anyway.

Im more than happy being ignored to be honest. Just let us get on with hitting form at a crucial part of the season with no added pressure. Also not a peep really about FFP from what ive seen which again is a good thing. Only way they would be talking was if we were fucked again and taking great delight in splashing the headlines all over the press and TV. Nice to be left alone and quietly go about our business.

Only on BM can we have an ignored and agenda thread .maybe ignored is the next step on the way to acceptance ? IMHO i think the media is going over the top about serge yes he is in a purple patch yes he is unplayable at the moment .when he does it season after season then is the time to discuss him against others bes been compared to and he becomes a great

Wipe your fanny

Not much of a mention on Brazils show but that's to be expected as he is a rag knob, meanwhile 2 people who know their football Colin Murray and Danny Murphy are full of praise for both the team and especially for Sergio, not stopped talking about him for a good half hour
It's swings and roundabouts with talkshite and their presenters, if Durham is in a vindictive mood tonight he will find a way to get under our skins, either that or he will totally ignore us like he has since Southampton and deliberately talk the rags and Chelsea up for 3 hours just to wind us up
