Iheanacho and Nwakali

Lets hope the injury fixes fine & we welcome Kelechi into the squad. Coming into the squad when we already have Jovetic, Aguero & Dzeko 'fit' this should take some of the pressure off him.

Enjoyed what I saw of him in the U.S. based games. Gentle introduction will be best. We need to keep expectations in check for this lad and other youngsters who will come in time.

City only got the ITC on Thursday and without it City can't register him or apply for a work permit.

That came direct from the Nigerian FA according to Colin Udah.

English Premier League champions Manchester City have informed Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) they will not release Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidiebere Nwakali for the 2015 African Youth Championship in March in Senegal.

Both players were among nine foreign-based pros called up by the Flying Eagles for the AYC and handed a Thursday deadline.

In a mail signed by City scouting and recruitment operations manager, Fergal Harkin, the EPL side said Iheanacho is injured and may not be fit till mid-March, while Nwakali is about to be loaned out to a club in Europe.

“With regards Kelechi Iheanacho, he is currently injured. We believe he will be fit around the middle of March but can keep in contract regarding his recovery,” read Tuesday’s mail in part.

“For Chidiebere Nwakali, we are currently in the process of agreeing his loan deal to Europe and he will not be available to meet up with the national team until further notice.

“At this moment in time, we feel it is best for his development that he cements his place in the club side.”

Did we get a work permit for Iheanacho then?
No idea mate, but it needs sorting out quick. Even allowing for his current injury, he needs to be getting some games under his belt otherwise he'll earn a reputation as the best ever player to kick a ball around a car park.
He's out for another 6 weeks apparently, that gives him around 10 weeks maybe for rehabilitation/training and a chance to play some games (probably EDS given the time frame). I wouldn't hold your breath expecting him to do an Aguero against Southampton at home on the 24th of May.

Apparently Nwakali has gone on loan to Malaga until the end of the 2017 season.

It's a very long loan stint and hopefully proves a success and comes back to us ready to step into the first team squad.
