Makes sense. I'm just glad he got through the game yesterday relatively unscathed. He's going to be a huge asset for us if he can stay fit.
 
Based on the lengthy and staged recovery we saw with Kompany, I really don't expect him to be challenging for a first-eleven berth until perhaps the turn of the year.
 
He's ideally the logical long term successor to Yaya. He has a very different style to Yaya, but his ability to play the role is on a very similar level. He lacks the power and maybe a little bit of the nous Yaya does, but he makes up for it in mobility and the fact his game has no obvious weaknesses like Yaya's had

Yaya's obvious weakness was in his big European performances. This is manifest and undeniable.
