So why does he keep getting selectedIt isn't entitlement it's reality.
City are now one of the top 5 clubs in world football and the people in charge want the absolute best. Gundogan isn't that.

The two other holding midfielders being otherwise unavailable to fulfil the role?So why does he keep getting selected
Or maybe he is actually good enoughThe two other holding midfielders being otherwise unavailable to fulfil the role?
What are his attributes?Or maybe he is actually good enough
That’s one of life’s mysteries. Pep’s constant selection of him reminds me of Peter Reid’s constant selection of Adrian Heath over far better players. Gundogan is too slow, mainly does sideways and backward passes and is frightened of shooting. It always seems to be a slow game when he plays. Just not good enough for where City want to be.So why does he keep getting selected

I find it particularly amusing when they use the "I have spoke to loads of others who think the same" to try and strengthen their argument. That is one of

He is certainly a good passer and an intelligent player though I don't agree that he's the best we have at controlling a game. We are often ponderous when he is in charge. His passing, positional sense and intelligence, probably the best we have for controlling the tempo of a game.
