I don't particularly like Gundogan that much. I just dislike the opinions that malign him based on figments of few poster's imagination.
My favorite player is Kevin, then Ederson, then Sterling then Bernado. I Almost never discuss them. Partly because they are also generally loved by the majority and rightly so.
The players I comment the most on, Zinchencko, Otamendi and Gundogan I often do as as a pushback to irrational comments based in fantasy.

Sorry mate, you've been wrong about Otamendi from the start. He has always been mediocre - poor positioning, rash tackles, and technical inadequacies that result in him going to ground incessantly. He may be Premier League quality, but not for a side with City's aspirations.

I seem to remember him being one of the standout performers in various games against Barcelona, Liverpool, Spurs and United. Tell me then, these shit performances against big teams, list them or some of them? The opposite is actually the case, some of the games he doesn't have an impact are the lesser lights who turn the game physical, this is where Ilkay struggles at times.

Also, stop playing the strawman. I will man up and retract the statement about being better at every single facet of the game - it was an exaggeration.
Bottom line and fundamental point is Fernandinho is a better deep or defensive midfielder than Gundogan. Gundogan has had a lot of poor performances in his time here, contrary to Dinho - this is something you and a very small minority are completely incapable of acknowledging.
I don't understand the futility of arguing one player is better than another, when they are both doing their best in helping a team become the best in Europe.
They are both elite players, unfortunately one is in his mid thirties.
Pep , played Gungogan extensively last season,and he cost only 22 million, incredible acquisition.
