I’m not moved by this. I actually think it’s a step backwards. He is a legend however we should be looking forward.


I would be much happier signing another right back and having Rico having minutes in midfield.

Disappointing.

Remember that the only reason the dippers got a title on Pep’s watch was that we didn’t get the Kompany replacement sorted and Fernandinho ended up playing at cb.

This move buys us a year. Him coming back gives us the year to find the players we really want rather than settling for a second or third choice player in midfield.

We also have a kdb who can’t and won’t play a full season. If Gundo plays half of his minutes and Kdb plays half, we are stronger.

Looks like Barca don't want Cancelo either. Reports are his only friend on the team was Joao Felix and he's gone too.

Between the poor attitude of Cancelo and the absolute basement dwelling that Barca is - so much has been exposed in the past few days on Barca. Who would want to play for them?

More disappointing to get the wrong player on a long contract which has happened often.. Kalvin, Nunes (perhaps), Cancelo (clearly), then there's Mendy, Mangala, Moreno (the one from Venezuela), and others.

It's a mistake to think we don't make mistakes but it's obvious we want the right players going forward for our midfield. We targeted 2 last year and they both said no even though we had the money.. maybe they were spooked by 115.. but clearly rather than another panic signing we want to get the next signings right as they'll be starters in midfield for a long time.

We managed to replace David Silva and Fernandinho pretty seamlessly. I've no doubt when the time comes we'll do the same.

Kevin spits his dummy out when he’s subbed. I don’t think Kevin is ready to accept he can’t play as often as he would like.

We will end up with Gundo and Kevin signing two year deals. Pep playing them much more than we imagined and Foden being pushed out wide. Bernardo being pushed back out on the right, effecting Savios minutes. And to top it off, Rico won’t get a chance to play in midfield for the foreseeable future.

Thirdly, KDB’s minutes need to be managed and having Gundog available will be a help and fourthly to cover for Rodri etc. Fifth, the younger players can learn from him. Why are people criticizing a free transfer and a player who was so good in the last 4 seasons? Bizzare

He looked leggy on many occasions last time he was with us. Watching him trying to get back was painful at times.

Same with the Euros, a lot will disagree but he was a problem for Germany.

I would be way more confident in having Bernardo or Kova in midfield.
