Each return is unique and you can't judge the likelihood of success by looking at very different situations.
The return it actually reminds me of most is when Scholars was recalled from retirement by Ferguson.

I didn't say *he* was amazing, I said his second debut was. Completely unexpected return home from a genuinely loved fan favourite, scores 2 on his first game away from home in a 0-3 win. What more do you want?
