I think this was on Sky and then on MoTD and I remember hearing Linekar laughing in the background at how funny it looked as the defender face planted the pitch. It just shows you how brilliant footwork can put you off balance. Great player, is Gundogan.

I'd imagine so.

Pep will get bombarded with Gundo questions whether it has or hasn't been announced anyway, so it's probably easier to announce it first so he can give straight answers.

Can someone explain the nickname Mr Whippy?

It came about from the alternative commentaries during the Covid season when crowds weren't present. It was after he whipped in a shot from distance if I remember correctly (possibly against Palace?).

I'm sure it'll still happen, my quids on Saturday and a wave on the pitch but, normally by now someone pops up to say City have done some filming for the announcement.
